Please pray for Gaye as she is heading to surgery this morning, February 17th, for a partial knee replacement. The surgery is scheduled for around 8:30-9:00a.m. She will be in the Presbyterian Hospital of Plano 2-3 days. Please pray that Gaye will have a successful knee surgery and for a complete recovery with no delays or complications. *** Update *** 2/17/09 - I want to thank everyone who has been praying for Gaye. The surgery was scheduled for two hours, but it only lasted for one hour. She was in and out with no difficulties. She ended up having a partial knee replacement as opposed to full knee replacement. The surgeon was not sure if it was going to be a full or partial until he could determine the severity of her knee’s condition; so praise God, it was only a partial. God is good! Thank you again for your prayers and concern.
2/20/09 - Gaye is in good spirits and completed a walk down the hall with her son, and her granddaughter on the 18th. She is really focused on getting back to normal as quick as possible. She is undergoing physical therapy, which she states is very exhausting and pain intensive.
Gaye thought she might be getting out of the hospital on the 19th, but decided to stay until the 20th so she can undergo more therapy and gain more control on her self-care techniques.
I am sure she will be back on here with a praise report soon. Thank you for all of your prayers. Please continue to keep Gaye in your prayers for healing, patience through the healing, and wisdom as she walks through her recovery period. *** Praise Report *** Thank you for all the prayer covering. God has been good and I am making good progress. The physical therapist came for the first time this evening since I got home from the hospital. She said my incision looked great and that I was doing well. The pain comes and goes. I wanted to share with you what my 9 year old granddaughter did for me. I frequently read the scriptures with my granddaughter and pray with her. I have told her how important it is to praise the Lord and speak His truth into our lives. She brought me a book she made for me this afternoon. It is called "My Scripture Book". She had looked this scriptures up in one of her Bible study books. Here are the scriptures that she wrote down. "We love because He first loved us." I John 4:19
"A happy heart makes the face cheerful; but heartache crushes the spirit." Proverbs 15:13 "A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed. Proverbs" 11:25 "Walk in the way of understanding." Proverbs 9:6 "Trust the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and He will make your path straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 "The Lord is good to all." Psalms 145:9 "I have put my trust in You. Show me the way I should go." Psalms 143:8 Isaiah says "A little child will lead them". These were insightful scriptures for a 9 year old to share with her grandma. It blest me from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I am so thankful that Covenant Church has poured God's Word into her life as well.
Thank you for your love and prayers. I so appreciate them and ask you to continue to do so. Have a wonderful, blest week!

Coreena and Angela - Thank you for standing in agreement and praying for Gaye. "Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matthew 18:19-20) |

| I started praying this morning when I realized this. I know the power of prayer when I was in surgery meant a huge difference. Thanks for posting this. I will continue to pray this whole week. I have known folks with this surgery and it is not an easy one to deal with in the natural. We serve an awesome Lord who can make the difference. |

Blessed be the Lord, because He has heard the voice of Gaye’s supplications! The Lord is Gaye’s strength, and her shield; Her heart trusted in Him, and Gaye is helped; Therefore, Gaye’s heart greatly rejoices, And with her song, she will praise Him.
The Lord is Gaye’s strength, and He is the saving refuge of His anointed. Psalm 28:6-8
O Lord my God, Gaye cried out to you. And You healed her. Psalms 30:2 |
