Are adults aware of Josh's attempts?  If not, please share this info with a school guidance counselor or another trusted adult in a position of authority.  At 14 every rejection can seem unsurmountable, but if we work through them, they can help us grow and mature.  As cruel as others can seem to us sometimes, they are never worth throwing our lives away for.  I'm praying for Josh, and I'm glad he has you for a friend.

Suicide is nothing to take lightly. Even joking about it will leave residual thoughts that can manifest at a time of feeling low or depressed and can wreak havok with the word of God. Even if a person is only trying to get attention, there may be some disturbing thought patterns going on that may just be symptoms of an even greater problem.

Yes, tell someone just like Kathy said and Prohet Jay also is right on track.

Josh, God has a plan for you.  I do want to share a verse with you, it is pressing on my heart to do so, usually i do not 'toss' a verse someone's way especially if they are very down due to the difference in interpretation at a time in one's life but I feel i should tell you that God has big plans for you and when you are persecuted {like this girl is doing} then God has someone MUCH MUCH better for you.  I have been through this in relationships and now it is a ministry God has given me, TRUST me...God has SUCH a WONDERFUL girl for you.  Seek God first, look towards God by reading your word {Bible} going to youth time, church...and then God will give her to you at the right time for both of your lives.

29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end.

God has a wonderful and it starts right now...choose life!

I know this blog is old but I do pray that your friend is allright now. My sister tried suicide a few years ago. Just a feew weeks ago, a friend of ours lost her son to suicide. She is heartbroken. I think that a person must be hurting very badly to think about this. But they are not thinking about the hurt they leave behind.
If this girl is that thoughtless, she doesn't deserve your friend
All my life I was in either an abusive relationship or a verbal one, so was my mother and my grandmother. My husband asked me why I stayed with men that cared nothing for me.  My answer shocked me, Because I wanted to be accepted. I was blind to the fact that I wasn't accepted the wayI was, I was letting them mold me into what they wanted. Pretty stupid huh?
Sad how we can let others make us feel so usless, and no good.
