12:21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:21 1:7 but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. There are power in numbers. Jesus said , 18:20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them." 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting `one another'; and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh. Hebrews 10:25In the face of abuses, adversity, injustice, persecution or slander; we must ask "What would Jesus do?" In Oswald Chamber's July 14th, " My Utmost for His Highest" the message discusses how we can walk in The Victory and Rest that is Christ and Glorify our King and Savior, Jesus by our response to "abuses, adversity, injustice, persecution or slander" . In Psalms 56:4 and then again in Psalms 56:11 we see Truth repeated ; "In GOD I put my Trust, I SHALL NOT be afraid. What can mere man do to me?" A plain truth , "If God is for us, who could be against us?" Other Spoken Words of Truth, Galatians 6:7, "Do not be deceived!, God WILL NOT be mocked. For whatever a man sows, that shall he reap also". "Vengeance is mine, saith The Lord". (Romans 12:19) In Matthew 5:39 , we are to heed HIS instruction, "I tell you not to resist and evil person. But whoever slaps you on the right cheek turn the other cheek to him also."........... and in Matthew 5:44, " But I say to you, Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who and persecute you" My Lord is my refuge, my shelter in the storms of life and in difficult relationships. I pray I do not return evil for evil and that I may bless the Lord by taking a blow for His Namesake. Matthew 5:11, "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil things against you for thy namesake" The Lord has spoken to me regarding my response to enemies; Pray for your enemies and respond in Love, for Love conquers ALL!! An Love covers a multitude of sin
In The Face of Love, The Face of Jesus; darkness shall have NO dominion, because where there is Light there can be no darkness.Jesus is The Light, He lives within your heart. Let It Shine! And Finally as we pray for our enemies we must introspect our hearts before the Lord. Praying The Lord's Prayer ( Matthew 6:9-13); "..6:12.......and forgive us our trespasses just as we have forgiven those who trespass against us". Matthew 6:14,"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will forgive you". Hope your day is blessed with the confidence of Who Christ has has made you, Joint Heirs! God Bless and thank you for your prayers. My Utmost for HIS Highest July 14th's devotional
Suffering Afflictions and Going the Second Mile I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also —Matthew 5:39 This verse reveals the humiliation of being a Christian. In the natural realm, if a person does not hit back, it is because he is a coward. But in the spiritual realm, it is the very evidence of the Son of God in him if he does not hit back. When you are insulted, you must not only not resent it, but you must make it an opportunity to exhibit the Son of God in your life. And you cannot imitate the nature of Jesus— it is either in you or it is not. A personal insult becomes an opportunity for a saint to reveal the incredible sweetness of the Lord Jesus. The teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is not, "Do your duty," but is, in effect, "Do what is not your duty." It is not your duty to go the second mile, or to turn the other cheek, but Jesus said that if we are His disciples, we will always do these things. We will not say, "Oh well, I just can’t do any more, and I’ve been so misrepresented and misunderstood." Every time I insist on having my own rights, I hurt the Son of God, while in fact I can prevent Jesus from being hurt if I will take the blow myself. That is the real meaning of filling "up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ . . ." ( Colossians 1:24 ). A disciple realizes that it is his Lord’s honor that is at stake in his life, not his own honor. Never look for righteousness in the other person, but never cease to be righteous yourself. We are always looking for justice, yet the essence of the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount is— Never look for justice, but never cease to give it. THOU ART MY VICTORY
I prayed for help, I prayed for strength, I prayed for victory; I prayed for patience and love, For true humility But as I prayed, my dying Christ By faith I seemed to see, And as I gazed my glad heart cried, "All things are mine, thro' Thee!" If He doth dwell within my heart, Why need I strength to implore? The Giver of all grace is mine, And shall I ask for more? And need I pray for victory, When He who conquered death Dwells in my very inmost soul. Nearer indeed than breath? Oh help me, Lord, realize That Thou are all in all; That I am more than conqueror In great things and in small No need have I but Thou hast met Upon the cruel tree. Oh precious, dying risen Lord, Thou art my victory. Avis B. Christiansen, as quoted in Charles R. Swindoll, Victory |
