Angel Food Ministries at TMBX!!

When Neil got home from the Wednesday night meeting on Feb. 18, Wendy relayed the message that a representative from the Angel Food Ministries had called and our church has been APPROVED to be a distribution site!!!  To learn more you may visit www.angelfood.net where you can find all sorts of information including video clips and more.

All this for just $30? Yep. A different menu to chose from each month.
With special holiday boxes available too.

The organization will be sending us a start-up kit with an instructional video and everything that we will need to help meet the growing needs in our community.  Angel Food Ministries is not a "free food give away" program.  It is an organization that was started by a pastor and his wife when their town experienced economic hardships due to the closing of some factories.  The program takes orders from anyone who can benefit from getting good food at a reduced cost.  The ministry is able to buy bulk quantities of popular and nutritious food items and they get them at a reduced cost which they pass along to others. There are no restrictions regarding who can participate.  Typically, you are able to get a box of food for @ $30 that you would normally pay $60 to $70 at the grocery store.  Orders can be taken by us here at the church or you may place your order online.
 
We will let you know more as we gather further information.  We look forward to the benefits and blessings that will grow out of this important community outreach! 
 
Heads up!  Volunteers are going to be needed one Saturday morning per month.  We'll let you know how you can help.

Our church applied and was turned down. But we still take orders and pick them up from another distribution site, and since we got a TON of orders we are planning on re-applying. It's a great program!

 Mike and Laura--I'm sure you'll get approved on the next application!  Yes, that picture is the food that Wendy and I received from Angel Food Ministries several months ago when we were investigating the program.  I'm glad you  liked the photo.  Many of my blog entries have my photos in them.  Sometimes I borrow pics from the web if I don't have what I need among my collection of 20,000 photos that I store on line with the yahoo company called flickr.com.  Thanks for reading and commenting.......

Joyful--It looks like Africa revealed its bounty of wildlife to you.  I'm sure you were blessed to be there.  Are you uploading pics from Africa or are you home now?

Hi Neil, I'm home now. Just giving something different for people to look at now. Haven't travelled there for awhile but pray to go soon as the Lord enables. I love the wildlife and the orphans. Plan to put up more pictures of the orphans again later.
