Amen.  It is written in Acts: "It is through much tribulation that we must enter into the Kingdom of God."  This goes along with all those other verses in 2 Corinthians that tell us that the purpose of tribulation is to bring us into that place of weakness where we will stop trying to depend upon our self to produce the life, and we will begin to expect the Spirit to produce the "fruit" through us.  A HUGE difference in who gets the glory, and about our expectations of what comes from us!  When we do see "badness" in our self and fall apart, it is because we unknowingly are still expecting something from our "self" rather than from Christ.  The "badness" is merely our weakness and our opportunity to expect Christ to be all that He can be...through us!  Power made perfect [brought to maturity] in our weaknesses.  Our weaknesses then become something we actually glory in then!!!  Think about it!

Yours in Him,
Craig

Just thinking about grace & peace being multiplied, ever increasing as we grow in our knowledge of the LORD...and thinking about how, when we get a physical wound, we clean it, apply ointment and a bandage.  We check it each day, cleaning and reapplying ointment and bandages as needed until it is completely healed.  If it becomes infected we seek medical attention.   Isn't it odd then, that we aren't as full of grace toward ourselves when we receive an emotional wound?  We all get hurt -- but why do we expect for that hurt to heal up the moment we say, "I forgive"?  We certainly do have to come to the place that we can say that!  But it is just the first step in addressing the wound!  We also have to be gentle with ourselves -- cleaning that hurt,  applying the ointment and then covering the wound with God's Word and ample time spent in His presence.  Some of those wounds will leave a scar, some won't.  But the more we fellowship with the LORD, the better we will become at properly caring for those wounds.

“Grace groweth best in the winter,” and we can testify with the psalmist, “it is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes” (Psalm 119:71). One thinks, for example, of Fanny Crosby, blind since early childhood, yet enabled to write 8,000 beautiful hymns in her 95 years. http://www.icr.org/article/21126/

12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Amen gojolly63,   I like that:  'Grace groweth best in the winter'

Ladies/ gentlemen, even in life and death situations, get help and go to safety, God does not wish abuse on His people, you are to live an resurrected life.  Then you count it all joy!!

1:2 Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into manifold temptations; 1:3 Knowing that the proving of your faith worketh patience. 1:4 And let patience have `its' perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing. 1:5 But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed. 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord; 1:8 a doubleminded man, unstable in all his ways.

The verses I've never heard preached from a pulpit or on TV:

2 Corinthians 4:7-18 (ESV)
7But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 8We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. 11For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12So death is at work in us, but life in you.

13Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, "I believed, and so I spoke," we also believe, and so we also speak, 14knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. 15For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

16So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. 17For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

The only way we are building up that weight of glory is when we are looking at the "unseen" and eternal things.  If we focus on the seen they we end up suffering for nothing.  Derek Prince is the only one I know of who speaks to these verses in his book Faith to Live By. Also another book by Billheimer called Don't Waste Your Sorrows

Best regards,
Craig

What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

Let it happen!  :-)

Cheryl, your teaching of Gods word and the sharing of your own life is
a blessing. I think about my own life and remember to do what is pleasing in the sight of God.
I know where I have been in my past, and how Gods grace has given me a new beginning, taking the old me and making me new. I have to say in the beginning of my journey with the Lord, I thought I had peace but it was just that, the beginning of what I have now. A deep inner feeling of trust in God, no longer leaning on my own understanding. No longer having a feeling of worry or hurt, not saying those feelings don't come, it's knowing to give everything to Jesus and quickly. I believe the fruit of the spirit is a gift, a cultivation of our love towards God and His love within us. We must walk worthy of this gift. Which produces the peace we need for everyday living, every situation, every circumstance. Too many people are living without this. If and when I can share what God has done for me with others in this chaotic world, and the Lord draws them,  then they too will find peace.
God bless you and thank you.
