Before Christ left he gave his disciples signs of his coming.  His disciples believed that Christ would be coming back at any time, because all the signs were there.  The farther we go, the signs are still here.  They are only getting more intense as the days go by.  They expected Christ to come back in their lifetime, how moreso is it for us?

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that Christ says he will return like a thief in the night.  He is coming back when we least expect it.  The more I see of the church today, the more they seem to NOT be looking for Him.  He's going to catch you napping!  But this was how I knew that whenever Christ was coming back, it wasn't going to be January 1, 2000.  Everyone was looking for Him to come back then.  Any time someone starts saying "Christ will return (insert date here)" we can know it won't be then.  It might be BEFORE that, but it won't be that time.  We can't set dates.  But we are to be ready.  Every moment.  We should keep in mind -- Would I want to be doing this, saying this, thinking this, at the moment Christ came for me?
