16:25 There is a way which seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Man cannot trust his own judgment. It started in the garden. The serpent made a logical-sounding argument and got Man to disobey God. From that point on our ability to make good decision for ourselves has continued to go down hill. Without God, we are like toddlers at home alone, at risk for getting ourselves into all kinds of life-threatening situations. We don't know enough about the world at large, how our decisions affect ourselves and others, and what our future holds. So why would we think we can determine for ourselves how best to live our lives?
Humanists try to argue that there is good in every person, and if given the right conditions they will do the right things. They will live moral, ethical lives and become a contributing member of society. These same people believe that if we just talk to Middle Eastern peoples long enough they will come over to the Western way of thinking. The question is, though, is why is Democracy the right way? Who decides that? Who decides that rule by the people is the right way to go? The Middle Eastern mindset holds that to be weakness. Their mindset is whoever weilds the most power has the right to make the decisions. If the Middle Eastern person doesn't fear you, they don't respect you and you will never get anywhere with them. This is their culture. Who are we to say they are wrong and we are right?
Humanism and the basic good of man is a fallacy. Without a supernatural being, one who created all things so has the right to make rules for man to live by, we have nothing. If man is equal, and there is no God, then no one man has the right to tell another how to live. No man has the right to determine morality. Only a Creator has the right. God gave us the Bible. For centuries people in this country lived by it. Our legal system was based on God's law. But slowly man's depraved thinking tried to find explanations for our existence apart from a Creator and Heavenly Father. We took prayer and the Bible out of school. Humanists claimed that morality was inherant to our nature and we didn't need those archaic, stifling guidelines that limited our expression.
What has happened? There has been an increased in divorce, teen pregnancy, rape, domestic violence, sexually transmitted diseases, shootings, and violent crime of all sorts. When man threw out the restraining hand of God from their society, it began spiraling downward. We are going to hell in a handbasket. Humanists try to claim that society has improved with the removal of these misconceived notions of the Bible's morals. Can you show me how?? I only see increased pain and suffering. I see broken famillies, hurting and struggling teens. How is our society better? You remove the fear of God from society, and you get chaos. This is "the way that seems right to a man."
People cry about gun crime and how the availability of guns is causing all these shootings. This country was founded by people having multiple guns in their homes. It was founded with the right to bear arms. One state's constitution expounds on the bill of rights to the point of saying that our right to bear arms (citizens, not military) is to not even be questioned. So what happened? We removed the fear of God. AND we are now teaching our children that we are accidents that are little better than animals through the theory of evolution. Is it any wonder that people are now beginning to act like animals? If you are an accidental mutation, what value do you or anyone else have? But if you are a person careful crafted in the image and likeness of God, with a design and purpose, then that gives self-esteem and a high calling.
We are reaping what we are sowing. Now and in eternity.
