AMEN! My dearest Brother Mike, this is God's grace in action! I had been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 10 years ago, 3 months after my little one was born. The sudden onset was so severe it effected every joint in my body, even my jaw. Mike, I couldn't even pick up the cordless phone to call for help. I have been taking a daily cocktail to keep this disease that man has no cure for under control since that time. I recently had a flare up last September. It just wanted to remind me it still owned me... My God, my beautiful Savior, my Creator has had favor on me Mike. He is the lover of my soul. He completely healed me of this horrible disease 32 days ago. No pills, no pain, no inflamation, no damage. NO Rheumatoid Arthritis! I have received His mercy and grace. His love is without boundaries. I praise His name daily. I will shout it from the rooftops. I KNOW THE LORD IS WITH US! HALLELUJAH! GLORY TO GOD! THANK YOU LORD!

God bless you Mike!

1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: 2 For length of days, and longa life, and peace, shall they add to thee. 3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: 4 So shalt thou find favour and goodb understanding in the sight of God and man. 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be healthc to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

I know that's right Mike....Powerful blog....I think this is the best one of yours I've read (smile)....I love it...There's nothing like the compassion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ......Compassion, when deliverance is on the line, supersedes everything else...Some laws truly can be broken when they bring Glory to the Most High God....Is it not because of the Lords compassion that we are all not consumed ;o)

When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, "Don't cry." Then he went up and touched the coffin…

or

“When the Lord saw her he was moved to the depths of his heart for her…”

This is the Lord I want to trust too...

TRUSTING, BELIVING & RECEIVING......
When God decides to heal, nothing can stop him. Nothing. Think about that...
I've been thinking about this a lot Mike.  No weapon formed against me on my journey
has prospered and I feel it's because of Gods Healing on my Life and my Spirit.  Nothing
and Nobody can stop what God is Healing in my life on this journey.  I am so glad I took
a "God Break" from my chores and came here.  I knew someone had a word for me at
my "Family Network".  Thank you and The Journey continues.  Going to look at my
"Possibilities" for my new home.   LOVE YOU MUCH

SHe might have been a nobody in a nowhere place to everyone else, but she was somebody to God.Aren't you glad that we are all some one to God through His grace. We were special enough that God sent His only son to die for us.Don't get more special than that even if He would never have healed anyone of anything, but I am glad He does.If we had that kind of passion that kind of compassion as believers the world would be a different place. We are too busy with our own things to extend compassion to others even when we hear God tell us to act sometimes.

Jan and Ruth (Bubbles) - it is easy to focus on the praiseworthy aspects of the Christian community, when we are walking closely w/God, isn't it? My soul praises the Lord along with you!!!

Panda....your comment is worth echoing many times over...thanks!

I love reading through all the times where it said Jesus "passed by" a certain town or place, because usually they're towns or places He didn't normally go, and He typically went there specifically too seek out specific people in need -- such as this widow, the woman at the well, etc.  One of my favorites is where He's fleeing the religious leaders who have picked up stones to stone Him:

8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

and as He passed by -- seemingly as He's on His way out of the Pharisees' presence:

9:1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from  birth.

Remembering that chapter and verse was added by the translators, the actual record looks like this:

Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by. And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from birth.

Jesus was, for all the world knows, fleeing for His own life, yet He "fled" towards the very spot where He had a meeting -- apparently still in the same general area as those He was fleeing from! -- with a man He intended to heal.

When you serve a God like that, I mean, what can you do?  His love, compassion, and overwhelmingly intense "seeking out" of those whom He has "divine appointments" for i so staggering, that when you realize He so actively "passed by" your way, and mine, in exactly the same fashion as that widow and that blind man ... well, it holds the power to melt even the most frigid of hearts.

Meant to add:  Him touching the coffin would not have put Him at enmity with the law forbidding the touching of a dead body, and in order for the religious leaders to have proved He touched a dead body, they would have had to give credence and authenticity to His ministry by declaring that the boy had in fact been dead, and thus now, had been resurrected.

They'd much rather "let Him off the hook" for their legal determinations re: the dead-body touching -- certainly the Father had no grievance with it since He directed Him there and, in fact, it was more a "Creation" event than anything else (since Jesus gave life to that which did not have any life in itself) -- than even hint at trying to declare publicly that Jesus touched the dead body.

Can you imagine the "press conference" that would follow?

"Yes, we saw Him touch a dead body."
"Who's dead body did He touch?"
"The widow's son."
"Oh.  But the widow's son isn't dead."
"Well, we're aware of that, but he was when the lawbreaker touched him."

:D

No wonder the saying has been so well-received: "Sin makes you stupid." lol

God's compassion is overwhelming.  I am amazed anew every day at all that He does for me...some things I don't even realize until well after the fact.  Some of the things He does we will never know about until the day we die and meet Him face to face.  But this is indeed the God I love, and the God I serve.

Jason, great comments! So very thoughtful, as always! (Your comments add much to every discussion.) I really liked your observation concerning the joining of chs. 8 and 9 (as Jesus passed by). And as for the issue of touching of the dead, it is a side issue, though relevant in this discussion in that it further shows where Jesus' concerns lay -- with the sorrowful woman, rather than legalities. As for whether Jesus actually broke the law or not, remember that the teachers of the law of Jesus' day made the law so complex that only they could be depended on to accurately interpret it. Also suffice it to say, that the teachers of Jesus' day, concerned about their reputation, would NEVER touch a container holding a dead body. God bless you bro, thanks for weighing in!
