Cute! lol You know what's weird? Once ever in my life, I felt an earthquake. I remember it vivdly.  I was just a small girl. I don't even think I was in school yet. I just know I was still single digits in age, and if in school, maybe kindergarden! Anyways, I was in the house by myself (which is why I think this was before I was 5) and all of the sudden this loud noise was going on and the weirdest sensation and the house shaking.  It was so werid.  And in my young little mind, I remember thinking that Jesus was returning at that moment. Yes; even that young, I thought that. I still think things like that sometimes when I hear rumbling in the distance.

Too funny.  Though when it was happening I do not think you were laughing.

I've been in two earthquakes that I remember. And they were both scary though reasonably small in magnitude (5.4 or so on the Richter scale). This isn't that strong as far as damaging earthquakes go but certainly enough to rouse me from a sleep and make me think the end was near too!

I had an experience once like Paul had in the Philippian jail. I was praying hard with 2 other brothers in a program where I was working. We had started praying around 11 pm and well past midnight when the building started to shake violenty. It shook so much that the director and his wife that had their apartment downstairs were shaken out of bed and when they ran upstairs to find out what was happening they both fell under the anointing. The power of God was so overwhelming that everyone in the dorms got up one by one and would fall in the middle of the floor one on top of another. Shalom

Never been in an earthquake, however I can imagine how you felt when things started shaking and you could not see where it was coming from.....  JESUS is going to announce His coming with the sounds of trumphets and I cannot wait to hear them (just a little heads up) LOL....

I went through an earthquake in Indiana. My first thought was an explosion, Indiana is not known for earthquakes. My father was killed in a power plant explosion when I was young. I will never forget the moving ground and the sound.

Lara,

Thanks for reading my blog, the comment, and star!

So, you know exactly what I mean!  To remember your incident since you were around five years old--can really give a clue as to how "shaky" it would make a person that's never experienced that type thing AND I'm a LOT older than five! HA!

Thank you for sharing your experience, too! I appreciate it!

I have been through a few minor earthquakes here in Ohio.  Nothing big, but enough to make you wonder what in the world is going on!  I'm glad you figured out what it was, and it wasn't the end of the world.  I am ready to meet the Lord whenever He calls, but I don't want to rush it.

Joyful Servant,

Thanks for your comment and star!

I can not imagine what a 5 pointer might be like!  The earthquake center said something like category II, as in vibrations--and that felt pretty eerie to me.  I would have really been REALLY SKERED had it woke me up, as in your case!!!  Whew!

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Grandmama's Love,

Yeah, I'll just bet  Jr WOULD understand!  I can imagine him laughing about this.  He KNOWS how those machines can cause vibrations so strong and the effect it COULD have on a person, in LOUISIANA--of all places--without a  clue as to what was causing all the shakin'!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the story even more the second time around, too!

Thanks for reading the blog, the star, and your comment! I'm glad it ended up laughable and actually was not an earthquake!

Prophet Jay,

Now, that is interesting.

I'll bet every single one of the people who were there still remember that time vividly! To be shaken out of bed and not know what was happening and then have such an experience of anointing!  Thank you so much for sharing this on my blog.  I appreciate your comment and star.

Shalom

That is way too funny. I actually can relate, I live so close to Ft Bragg. When they are up and going they re-arrange pictures on the wall.

mstovall2003,

Thanks for your star and comment.

I am glad you could identify with the unexpected "moment" that things just started shaking! I've never been in an earthquake either, mild or severe.

Yes, the sound of the shofar/trumpet  is a welcome sound to me, too.  He's coming, that's for sure!

Thanks

Bren,

Thanks for your comment and star.

I'm sorry your dad died, much less in an explosion.  I can certainly see how you would think of an explosion when you felt the vibrations and other effects of an actual earthquake. You would have the added memory of your dad to kick in, too.

I did think of the possibility of a gas line explosion.  We have natural gas pipelines in the area-but I didn't think it would actually "shake" the house, even if that were the case--unless it was RIGHT HERE! Wow, the things that did run through my head.

Thanks for sharing your experience.  It can be scary--at least for a little while--until you realize what is actually happening.

OMG OMG.   When I lived in San Diego I felt an Earthquake at Five in the morning.  It was two in the morning in my hometown of Baltimore.  I picked up the phone and called my mother to let her know.  She was not happy but was concerned.  It lasted only a few minutes but to me it seemed like an hour.
Loved the Grammar, Enjoyed the Fun.  I hope it doesn't happen again.

I'm glad you enjoyed my "hillbilly thang" earthquake story!  I admit, I enjoyed writing it and have enjoyed the comments.  It is so good to relax, laugh a bit, and know that other people are enjoying themselves, too!

Jewlz,

Thanks!  I think we have serious times but we also need to laugh.  I'm glad I helped you smile and that you let me know via your comment that you got a chuckle out of it!  Thanks for star and great comment! I appreciate you!

Deb,

At least you do KNOW how I felt. It does make you wonder, while it is going on--unexpected--and in a place that never FEELS earthquakes--one REALLY does wonder!!! LOL.  I'm ready for the Savior to come, too.  Thanks for sharing your experiences and how it affected you "during the moment".  Thanks for the star and great comment! I appreciate you, too!

Joey,

Thanks so much for your cute comments!  Well, I just had to thank you and update this blog! (photo below)

I am enclosing photo of a machine that's vibratin' the house AGAIN (and it's shakn' pretty bad. It's not the concrete buster that did it worse, when I first wrote this blog!  I didn't think to get photo of that one.  I was too skered! LOL!

I am glad you got a laugh over this blog.  I enjoyed writing on the "lighter" side and all of the people that got a laugh with me! Photo below taken 4-3-09:
