It is true that we do have a tendency to glorify our storms, if you will, when we should be glorifying God. I think of the devil as a flea that can be exterminated. He may be pesky for a while but it only takes one zap of prayer to be rid of him.

Thanks, Daily Grace, for the star and the comment. When I wrote this I thought about Jesus speaking to the storm when the disciples feared for their lives and he was asleep. He simply told the storm to be still and it did.

I thought about Elijah.When Elijah was on the run,exhausted,discouraged,wanting to join his ancestors in the grave.God told Elijah to stand at attention,He was coming by.Came by God did,there was hurricane force winds,an earthquake,&fires,but God wasn't there.God was in the small still voice following the storms.I am sure God was with Elijah during those storms,but maybe He was preparing Elijah to really see Him after the storms.
