Been there, done that, and I might do it again. Why??? Because of the erroneous concept I sometimes have of God. Yes He is all powerful and He can change everything bad that happens or it’s about to happen to me and to the world, but why would I want God to put me in a glass bubble where pain and tribulations can’t touch me? I will never be the kind of daughter He wants me to be if I do, because it is through pain and tribulations that my faith grows and my patience becomes stronger.
Romans 5:3-5 (NLT) 3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Now… knowing this does not change the fact that many times I have blamed God for my trials by asking the famous question “Why God?” But then, when I sit long enough to think of His goodness and His love, I run to Him in repentance. - Lourdes |
