66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me]:
There are volumes that can be said about this subject, but no one is a better teacher on this than Jesus Christ. We have His earthly example of deeds, and teachings on every issue that affects the heart of man. We are eternal, spiritual beings having a physical experience within a timeline. There is a reason that God said not to be anxious about anything. The word anxious is careful in the KJV and it is defined from the greek as:
1) to be anxious
a) to be troubled with cares
2) to care for, look out for (a thing)
a) to seek to promote one's interests
b) caring or providing for
This word is used by Jesus it Matt 6:25;27;28;31:34 and in PHIL 4:6
6:25 "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
6:26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
6:27 And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life?
6:28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin;
6:29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
6:30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O men of little faith?
6:31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
6:32 For the Gentiles seek all these things; and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.
6:34 "Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for the day.
I stated that prayer is one of the best forms of time management, and Jesus is the ultimate example in the Bible of a true prayer warrior. Now prayer is free, and can be done anywhere, and at anytime. Jesus fasted and prayed for 40 days and nights, and at the end of that time was tempted by Satan, to which He replied with the Word of God, a lesson that we could use more often because it works. We need to be cleansed vessels for God to hear us though for:
66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear [me]: David surely learned this lesson the hard way, and it is written for our example as Hebrews declares. The word here is regard and the Hebrew meaning in english is:
1) to see, look at, inspect, perceive, consider
a) (Qal)
1) to see
2) to see, perceive
3) to see, have vision
4) to look at, see, regard, look after, see after, learn about, observe, watch, look upon, look out, find out
5) to see, observe, consider, look at, give attention to, discern, distinguish
6) to look at, gaze at
So this is very important that we ask God to show us where to look at ourselves and our motives and the places that we have sin in our lives, and to ask Him to cleanse us then move on with accountability to someone who has been set free from the specific type of sin that we are being set free from. One way that worked for me was to go to school for Christ centered drug and alchohol counseling, and then work in this field, but I surrendered to God completely and then sought wise counsel from many pastors and counselors. Mostly, I dedicated my daily way of life to praying for all of the people that I hurt during my years in the prison of drug addiction. There were many other things that i did as well. One big thing that has been very beneficial to me was to do chores and take out the trash whenever possible. I dedicated all of my belonmgings and gifts to Jesus, and my car has 200,000 miles on it with no problems, and looks good, becuase God wants me to be faithful with what He has entrusted me with, and that means effective time management.
This topic can be taken overboard by some, and that is why we must seek God's wisdom, and walk in the demonstration of the Holy Spirit and Power, and not the wisdom of men's teachings. When I say that prayer is great time management, I mean it because I live it and God has truly blessed me with His peace and friends that love me. It's not about me it is all about giving Jesus honor and praise, because that is what we'll be doing when we go to heaven; and prayer is something that God uses to change things down here.
