Ever since I can remember I have had a pretty close connection with nature. By the time I was 14 my biggest hero became Teddy Roosevelt. This was based almost entirely on his love for wilderness and his role in creating America's National Parks system. My childhood ambition of studying Environmental Science at Syracuse University gave way to a later interest in Finance. Six years after getting my Finance degree from RIT I find myself completely disinterested in a career in Finance. Instead I have this burning desire to create meaningful social change to benefit our environment. Whether you buy the "Climate Change" argument or not the real discussion is simply, "Do you want more or less toxins in your environment and in your food supply." America has been blinded by the media's debates on the evils of SUVs with each side yelling about the ignorance of the other. The real news story is, why after 100 years of engeneering has the automotive industry failed to notably improve the efficiency of human transportation. See www.teslamotors.com to see what we should have all been driving for the past 30 years. Being a pretty opinionated guy who tends to think he's got a solution for any problem, I decided to put the word out there. My girlfriend Kristin and I have decided to start sharing our adventures in returning to a more sustainable lifestyle. We feel called to overcome our insecurities and share our experiences and knowledge about being good stewards of the planet God gave us as EcoVangelists. 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth." |
