| Big Brother 8...Go Eric! |

Y'all ever seen that show called Big Brother? It's the one where they lock up a bunch of folks in a house and then people can watch em on TV. They got camera men that live in the walls and film them people 24-7. My wife even subscribed online and she can log on at 2am and watch em sleep. A waste of money if ya ask me. I told my wife it would be cheaper to buy some binoculars and spy on the neighbors...she wanted to know why she couldn't do both so I changed the subject.
We don't have but one TV so I had to watch that show all week, it came on 3 times! It's got to the point where I don't never have the remote-control anymore, to be honest I feel like less of a man. Last night after the show was over I felt like some sort of peepin tom. I ain't said nothin to my wife about it because..well I just isn't worth it. I gotta pick fights I can win. Which is pretty much none, so I just sit there real quiet.
However, one thing that was interestin to me was how everyone acted when they first got in the house. You could tell they were aware of the cameras because everyone was actin on their best behavior, tryin to put their best face on for America. But it didn't take long before they forgot about the cameras and their true personalities came out. Made me think about some people I know that go to church and act like super-christians, but then when they leave they blend right in to this old sinful world. But they don't realize that our big brother (Jesus) is watchin them all the time. And not only is Jesus watchin them, but this world is watchin them too tryin to figure out if christianity is for real.
Well, that's about the only good thing I could get from that show. Anybody else out there watchin it?...or being made to watch it? |

Hey BillyRay! Thankfully laura isn't making me watch anything. We were bit by the reality tv programming too though, for us it's Survivor. Kind of excited about Survivor 16 (or whatever # they're up to), although I'm still disappointed that Dreamz went back on his word in the last edition of Survivor. ~mike |

| Survivor, American Idol, The Amazing Race...why on earth do they call these shows "reality"? Like you will ever have an opportunity to win a million dollars because you did not get kicked off an island?? Reality or not, I too am hooked. Mike - Dreamz disappointed me too! |

Seen every episode of survior, Amazin Race, American Idol, Extreme Makeover (even went and saw em when they came to Raleigh), Love Deadliest catch. Somehow I have been able to avoid the Biggest Loser.
Dreamz is a discrace to the state of North Carolina.. I think Yau Man should take him to court and get his truck back, I mean they got it on tape right!? |

| I'm a pretty big reality show fan. I LOVE Big Brother, I force everyone in my house to watch it too. I didn't watch Survivor last season but I probably will this next one. There are a few others I like to watch as well. But I completely agree with your comment about some people who are Christians only on Sunday. It ain't right. |

I watch Survivor, American Idol and The Amazing Race. Thank goodness, our cable company finally offered DVR's - now I can keep up with all of them even when I'm gone. (Putting a tape into a VCR was too much to keep up with).
When I was reading your blog, I couldn't help but think of something I heard a preacher say on TV last night. He said "Don't judge Christianity by christians, judge it by Christ." |

Marsharie, you're right too, it ain't right
Kristie, that's a good quote. My 3rd Cousin, Joesephus, got mad at me when I witnessin to him a while back. He said, "I don't wont to be a christian cause they're all a bunch of hypocrits". I said, "Josephus, you're problem is you've got Jesus confused with the church" They're too different things. 100% of the people in this world will let you down if you give em enough time. But Jesus won't ever let you down. |

My husband is the one in our family that loves TV. I'm pretty much a print junkie and spend most of my [non-people] time with books or on my computer reading or writing blogs. I like yours! |
