When we first decided to come up here in Jan. it was because of a Men's Conference called "Fearless". Men across NW Arkansas would leave all the "stuff" to get together with God, for themselves and for other men. I know that over 700 men were signed up for the two day conference.
This conference was one that made my heart pitter patter. First of all, the guest speaker is Dennis Swanberg, a nationally known Christian Comedian. The first time I ever heard of Dennis was through a patient's hubby. He gave me a tape to listen to, for some good laughs. Dennis and he were good friends. Then I got to meet Dennis at a concert and he even asked for a hug for taking care of his friend's wife.
We got to see him again in Jan of this year. This time was wonderful, LaTonya was with us. How a man can make you laugh at sooooooo much truth amazes me.
Another reason my heart pitter patters is because my husband and oldest son are together in this conference...what better bonding than a father and son spending two days with God and some 700 other men! My eyes sweat at the priviledge to even be so blessed by God to sit in church with our family.
Hollywood/Sugg/Suga and I spent the evening together, just kinda a girls night out. Mexican food and lots of coffee and giggles. We've spent alot of time together, but we just keep getting closer and closer, the more time we have. She is truly a blessing in my life. She's real, and that's very important to me. She's not afraid to ask for prayer and she's quick to offer prayer. There are just ppl you meet in your life that you know God put them there to stay, that no matter where you've been no matter what you've done, they love you in action and when you fall they don't preach and give scripture, they love you and carry you until you are strong enough to walk again. They laugh with you and they hurt when you hurt. They know they're not perfect in their walk and you aren't in your's. This is Sugg. She's in Ken and my heart deeper that alot of people can understand. God put her there and I see our journey together growing more and more. And it's not just our relationship.....she has one with Ken too!
When we left home yesterday, it was 68 degrees.......we awoke to snow this morn. God knows Hollywood and I love snow.....He gave it to us. This whole weekend I have watched God do things over and over, and I just have to laugh.
Back to the friend of Dennis Swanberg's. Ken just called, he had gotten to have a conversation this morn with Dennis. The friend lives about 3 hours away from us, and like so many times in life, when I left home health (they had a home in my area at the time) we lost contact. When Ken mentioned him to Dennis, and how we knew him, Dennis told Ken that our friend Joe Angel had had a severe stroke in the past year that he should not have lived through. I wasn't surprised he did though. He is a very strong man...spiritually, physically and mentally. I aspire to have his strength, so I laughed and said Dennis knows Joe, they're good buds, and Dennis knew Joe would pull through :) Please say a prayer for Joe Angel, I know he'd so appreciate it and so would I. God blessed me through him and his wife, I was a babe in Christ and they gave me so much wisdom that I clung to.
God is good all the time and all the time.......God is good!
