A second pick out of the door and although you know that you do not like cats you just have to pick again. A can of food will do. I will feed him just one time and hope he will go away. Well, guess what? The next morning what do think you have in from of your door? The cat is back! Two cans of food will do the trick. The following day three cans and the next four, and then five, six…. Until finally you realized that you are stuck with a 20 pound cat. Do you know that sin works in our lives the same way? It knocks at our door in its entire splendor. We know that sin is bad for us and that we should stay away from it. “But just one time, one quick look, a small lie, no one will notice, I will never do it again, it will go away…” Are you sure that the devil and enemy of all believers will send the cat away or will send it back to you more often? He will entice you to sin, to compromise by feeding your mind with wrong thoughts, passions, games idolatry or lustful desires. Persuading you that will be just one time until you feel stuck, caught or trapped under the weight of the sin. Don’t Feed the Cat! And a thought is not a sin but entertaining it will feed your mind and could end up in actions, resulting in sin. Are you stuck under a 20 pound cat today? There is hope for you. Hebrews 2:18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 4:16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. 1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptations has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. Bur when you are tempted he will also provide a way out so you can stand under it. Don't Feed the Cat!
