16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for the LORD sees not as man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart." How wonderful that God calls the seemingly unqualified to serve Him. Few of us are the eldest, the brightest, the most beautiful, or the most gifted. But God does not judge us by our outward appearance. God is not distracted by style, personality, appearance, or achievement. His gaze pierces the flesh and weighs the heart. | So glad God sees beyond the exterior. The most frustrating thing about the body of Christ, for me, is the unceasing tendency to judge by appearance. So many of us do it. Often we don't even realize we've done it. How many times do we see actions, or circumstances, or hear something about someone, then snap to judgment, w/o hearing their side of things, or asking them questions to understand WHY they say or do certain things or believe the way they do? |

| I have to agree with Mike! We need to learn to see through our Father's eyes. I've been in a position lately of ALOT of snap judgements on me, it hurts and I believe that I'm not the only one here that has. I've come to the conclusion through this that if you are making that judgement on me....you didn't really want to know me, you don't know what's going on in my life, you're not looking at me through God's eyes. Most human eyes cannot see past themselves. So, I dust my feet off and move on, because I know how God looks at me :) |
