Genesis 8:20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. (Read Chapter) The Christian life is a life of sacrifice. Its been said the problem with sacrificing our lives is that we continue to get off of the alter; we will in one minute surrender our lives in an attempt to live whole heartedly for Jesus, and in the next minute turn around and do things our way. Fear tends to hold us back, fear of the days ahead, fear that God is going to make us go through some tormenting trial, fear that the flood waters of these economic times will not recede and will eventually over take us. Noah built an alter and sacrificed to the Lord as a memorial to God’s supernatural provision and deliverance of not only his life but the life of his family. Imagine what would have happened if Noah got ahead of God’s plan for his life and decided to do things his way and open up the door to the ark early? During these times there is a temptation to scramble and devise ungodly means of staying afloat; yet the Bible say’s “Be still, and know see the salvation of the Lord” (Exodus 14:13, Read Chapter) Have patience, during these times lean harder on knowing Jesus. While stowed away in the ark for 40 days Noah was left with nothing to think about other then tending to his daily routine and how he was going to move forward “after” the flood waters receded. You are a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1, Read Chapter) , prepare your alter of sacrifice in thanksgiving to the Lord, you will make it through this storm!
