so the reason you light candles to the Saints is to ask them for prayer
sounds interesting but if jesus is our "middle man" why should the lighting of the candles make any difference any way.......it is interesting because i did not know that.
-----thank you

Ali,

I wanted to see an example of the prayers you explained in your blog and I found this link: http://wordbytes.org/saints/DailyPrayers/index.html

fter visiting the pages of this website and reading the different prayers, I'll be honest with you; I personally feel that Jesus has taken a serious demotion. From the Intercessor at the Father's right hand; He is one of many intercessors.

Dear Marie:

Ooops... I think the title made it a little confusing! We don't like a candle to ask a saint for his prayers... I mean, its not like "light the candle! otherwise the Saint won't hear ya!" nope. Iha ha! :)

ts a nice sign of our prayer that even once we are done saying it, it remains in front of God in petition. He he...but it ain't like an "on" switch. Anyway, most people don't even light candles anymore :(

Dear Lourdes:

Like always, thanks for reading! I'm honored at the fact that there is people actually reading. Thank you so much! :D

You are right, we don't need anyone else but Christ and indeed thanks to Him we have direct communication with the Father! But I guess it is pretty clear that its commendable to pray for each other. That's how Catholic Church views asking the prayers of Saints.

St. Francis or the Virgin Mary are just a couple other Christians praying for me.

Oh...and thanks for the link. I've never seen it before! thanks, its pretty cool (for a catholic I guess :D   )

Thanks again for your openness and sincerity :)

I subscribe to your blog.  I enjoy it immensely, keep it up.  I am a Baptist pastor who practices catholic beliefs.  I always enjoy getting helpful clarifying insight on the Catholic belief system.

Thanks.
