| God's Paradox |

Today's daily verse is a theme that runs through most major religions. Scholors interpret it to mean we are to put our health, of body and mind, in front of all laws. Throughout the Bible, people are faced with the choice of bodily harm or denial of their beliefs. Biblical scholars firmly believe that God wants us to preserve ourselves so we can continue to serve the Lord. It's as simple as eating during fast days if you are starving or sick or can be as complex as publicly denying your faith if you risk bodily harm. Although this second example sounds repugnant and direct disregard for God's commandments, it is what God wants. We are to live our lives to the fullest and serve God. It's tough to stomach, but you can serve God by breaking some of the most fundamental tenets of our religion. We'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic as it is controversial. Please don't hesitate to contribute. 21:3 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. |
