| How Great Thou Art |

7:22 Therefore thou art great, O LORD God; for there is none like thee, and there is no God besides thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 2 Samuel 7:22 What a great verse!! So often we simply acknowledge the presence of God without considering His wonderful nature. In 2 Samuel we read of how David was humbled that God would choose him to be king, and his family the royal family. God has done a great thing and made it known to His servant . When was the last time you took note of just how great God really is? The nature of God is for our consideration today just as it was for David back then. Hopefully we will see what he saw. First He addresses the Sovereignty of God. He starts out with his version of "How Great Thou Art." the words "O Lord My God, when I in awesome wonder . . ." in that great hymn pretty much sums up what David was feeling. Second, David notes that there is no one like God. Isn't it interesting that when something unique is brought to our attention we study it, talk about it, share it, then we drop it for something new. The nature of God is unique in that it is all powerful, all knowing, and unchanging. Finally, the last attribute of God's nature that David saw is "there is no God, but you." There is no other God!! In a world filled with so many choices we must recognize just as David, that there is only one choice in the divine. There is only one God. Read the words from Deuteronomy 6:4-9 . . . have a Great Day in Him, Dale
6:4 Hear, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah: 6:5 and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6:6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart; 6:7 and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 6:8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes. 6:9 And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates.
