| Accused (but the Lord is close) |
|
| |
Unjustly accused? Completely, totally innocent of all charges? Desperately in search of some effective means of defense?
34:19 A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all; The Lord delivers, he is our BEST defense! He promises! But what is my part? What is my response to be? What should I do or say?
34:13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. 34:14 Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. We mustn't compound evil with more evil! Rather than answer evil with more evil, seek to overcome evil with good. But what about our accusers? What will happen to them? How long will they persist? How will God make things right?
37:15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. False accusations often have a way of turning around and biting the accuser, if only we can patiently wait for the Lord's hand to move on our behalf. Thankfully, the Lord has taught me much about patience in the face of false accusation. Furthermore, amidst the worst trials, the greatest difficulties, the most insane injustices, when the happy ending remains defiantly hidden, there is always, ALWAYS good news...
34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Hi Mike, this is an excellent and timely post. You know personally about my recent trial with false accusation, and I never went back to the accuser with any response. I have already learned that silence is usually the best response to false accusation.
I don't know what's going on with the accuser because we no longer communicate, but I have prayed that she would be forgiven and that God would give her the spirit of peace and comfort. |

| This relates very well also to something currently happening with a local church here that constantly attacks others and accuses. The church changes preachers like we change our clothes - sad.
Pray for this church. |

| Man, that Holy Spirit must be moving everywhere at the same time, with the same message! Look up the story of St. Macarious of Egypt and the young girl, better yet here is the link for St. Macarious, and the story. |

Mike and Laura,
As usual yall are always on Target. What you said about false accsuers reminds me of our Bible Study from Luke 20 last Wed. night. The Religious elite tried their best to trap Jesus. They tried to hem in Jesus by questioning by what authority he did His works. But Jesus often resorted to a very vital psychological tool: He would answer a question by asking a question. He turned to them and ask by what authority did John the Baptist do what he did. He put then in a catch 22 situation, If they confessed by God, the question was why they did not live by John's teachings. On the other hand if they said by man's authority, they also had to confesss that they were unfaithful to the Covenants. They therefore refused to answer Jesus (pleading the fifth). Than Jesus said neither will I tell you on whose authority I do what I do. I like what Lynn alludes to above: That not all the enemy is out there. We spend too much time fighting one another, And not much has changed much since Jesus's days: alot of our battle are over control and power. If we spend half the energy puting out fires, reaching out to win others for Christ, how much better the Kingdom would be, Thanks Mike and Laura for all you contribute!

Your beautiful comments are giving me chills....it is amazing to see the Holy Spirit draw us together when we face similar challenges in the body (of Christ). Thank you each for being an active part of the body! And thank you Dennis for your message, it has blessed me far beyond words! I will attempt to respond individually when I can find the time, which is scarce at present! :) |

| not too many things hurt quite as badly as a false accusation. Just remember that Satan is the accuser of the bretheren and that there is no one who can lay a charge against His elect. Jesus was a man of sorrows and aquainted with grief and He knows our pain and our hearts and is just to exonerate us just as you pointed out. |

GOD WILL BE COMING SOON ~ LEAVE ALL THIS IN HIS HANDS & LET HIM TAKE CARE OF IT! THE CHRISTIANS WILL ALWAYS BE ATTACKED WHEREVER THEY GO.
LYNNE, WE HAVE HAD OUR PASTOR SINCE MY PARENTS HAD THE CHURCH BUILT HERE IN KANSAS BEFORE GOD TOOK THEM BOTH HOME IN SEPTEMBER OF 1988 & IN THE SAME WEEK. WE STARTED OUT WITH ONLY 50 MEMBERS & NOW WE ARE CLOSE TO AROUND A THOUSAND! "PRAISE THE LORD!" AND OUR PASTOR & HIS FAMILY ARE THE BEST! WE WOULD NEVER TRADE HIM FOR ANYTHING AS HE IS A PART OF OUR FAMILY & WE LOVE HIM & HIS FAMILY SO MUCH!!! |

Iris, thanks for your encouragement! Good advice too, although in some situations some kind of response is required in the face of accusation. I have been considering Jesus' response before the Sanhedrin. Great to hear about your church too, Iris. Sounds like a keeper!
Todd, it hurts when Satan uses those close to us to bring accusation. I'm so thankful for the comfort Jesus offers.

Dennis, thanks for that link. Wow, that story ministered to me. Is guilt ever betrayed by humility?
Lynne, very sad to hear about the church you described. Sounds like the Accuser of the brethren is having his way there... :(
Pastor Chuck, I really appreciate Jesus' example of quiet confidence. The Lord, the ultimate Judge, knew the truth after all. Why allow ourselves to become anxious and frantic? God is the One we need to please, and if he knows we are innocent, then we are in very good hands. Confidence should come easily with such knowledge. |

Joey, isn't it just like the Holy Spirit to convict us..... Thanks CindyLou....you have no idea! (or maybe you do) Thank you awomanatthewell...though I would have to say, I am ever so blessed to know that the Holy Spirit (the real teacher) uses the words I've typed to teach the lessons he intends to teach. It is very humbling to know this... Amen Deb, God does know the truth, so do I, and so do the people that really count! |

GrammyB... Sometimes it can take years..... Look at how long Joseph had to wait, and look at the accusations he had to endure, we never know what good can come out of the accusations, but IF he had not been accused, then Joseph never would have gone to Egypt to be able to care for the descendants of Abraham. We just need to have faith, knowing that the hand of the Lord is always there for us, not always FOR us, but always FOR His kingdom. |

| Great comment Gary. Recently (since I wrote this blog) someone told me how their father was falsely accused in front of an entire church, basically pronouncing him unfit to be an elder. He completely forgave the accuser on the spot. Years later the man who accused him, knowing he was innocent, found him and apologized for the accusation. It had stayed w/him all his life. |
