Many disciples, (myself included), have been effected by the evils performed by others. Every time something bad happens we are left asking, ‘Why Father’. This can leave us asking is God present in our lives.
Years removed from the situations and after a great deal of time devoted to prayer I realized that God gives everyone in this world the gift of free will, some people use this gift to serve the Lord, others use it to drive drunk, sell drugs, and even commit other crimes. I have also learned that the decisions made by others can effect our lives in a negative manner. Before this realization it was almost second nature to blame God for all the bad things that happened everyday. A perfect example would be when my grandfather died after his stroke I blamed God, never once thinking that the two packs of cigarettes he smoked for forty years may have been the actual cause. God didn’t take my grandfather away from me, but He did love him enough to let my grandfather choose the way he wanted to live. On the other side of the coin I had a friend Jay who did not drink or smoke, and lived a very clean life and he died of cancer. Situations like this can once again leave us shaking our fists at God, all the while right in front of us rows and rows of cars pour out cancer causing toxins into the very air we breath. Often we are unable to see past our own pain and look at the bigger picture. If we choose to live the way we want we must realize that everyone has that same right and their choices may effect us negatively.
So where is God when we don’t understand why there is such an abuse or injustice in this world?
28:5 Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the LORD understand it completely.
So what can be done? How can we protect ourselves? God wants to protect us from all fears, dangers, and physical harm. In a sense He wants to be our personal bodyguard.
God will always be with us through good times and bad always believe that, have faith that when we can’t go on the Lord will carry us.
3:3 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from evil.
From Patrick a servant of God chosen to be an apostle of Jesus Christ.
