Thomas was not with the other desciples when Jesus first appeared to them after His reserruction so he did not truly believe and would only believe if he had tangible evidence. When Jesus appeared one week later and Thomas saw with his own eyes and Jesue invited him to touch the areas of which he spoke the week before Thomas believed and doubted no more.
So just as Mary and Martha believed when they saw their brother Lazaraus come out of the tomb and saw the Glory of God in the raising of him. How much more must we who have been born much later believe and trust that we also will see the Glory Of God even in the smallest ways.
11:40 Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"
This has me thinking...:) I remember hearing the testimony of a young lady who simply asked God, "What kind of mom do You really think that I am?" Later in the day she took her brood to Walmart and was stopped twice by the same lady, who was weeping and saying, "I don't know why I need to tell you this, but you are an incredible mother!" (We all know why that woman had to stop a total stranger twice, don't we?) :) :) :) I'm thinking...and smiling...and considering it as a grand opportunity to ask God to speak to any of us about areas of our lives where doubts assail. Maybe we should just ask Him to show us...:) :) :) and then be prepared to hear His voice when He answers with great delight!
I have a feeling angels are pretty imposing figures! I read somewhere in the bible someone encountered one and was so terrified they fell down as though dead.. (darn, can't remember who) This is why I would be happy to have a guardian angel! :)
