Hi! It's almost St. Patricks Day so be sure to wear green so you don't get pinched on Tuesday.
SHY!!!! St. Mark's United Methodist is considering our challenge to play us in either Dodge ball or Volleyball on the 29th. Their youth director will get back to me this week. Mark your calendars. I need a volunteer girl--I know Matt contacted Haley by text--for devotions. Ethan is responsible for games if we don't have St Mark's.
Speaking of St Mark's UMC youth director, Katie is her name and she has several postions open on their Youth Works Camps this summer .
Prayerfully consider if you wish to go. The Sr. high trip is $300 and goes to DC for a week beginning July 5 I think. The MS trip is for the third week of July and goes to Charleston WVA and is also $300. I will have more details hopefully tomorrow.
I will forward the info she is going to send me about deposit/deadline to make a decision.
TOW this week has Steve Flint from the Sheriff's Department talking about gangs. So quite possibly we may need to hear if we do have them in our schools. Have any of you heard of Gang activity in the MS or HS level here?
John Bible Study
1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
1:3 All things were made through him; and without him was not anything made that hath been made.
1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
1:5 And the light shineth in the darkness; and the darkness apprehended it not.
1:6 There came a man, sent from God, whose name was John.
1:7 The same came for witness, that he might bear witness of the light, that all might believe through him.
1:8 He was not the light, but `came' that he might bear witness of the light.
1:9 There was the true light, `even the light' which lighteth every man, coming into the world.
1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world knew him not.
1:11 He came unto his own, and they that were his own received him not.
1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, `even' to them that believe on his name:
Okay, now read the first chapter of Genesis. Do they have similarities? We'll be exploring the Gospel of John as our Bible study beginning in April.
BEING A PART of FUMC:One of our goalsat FUMC is to become better disciples. As youth we can certainly be a part of Relay for Life.
So we need to sign up for Relay for Life as part of the FUMC team. I will get the weblink from Annette Lane and send it out. I think the cost is $10 and it is the last weekend in May.
See you on Wednesday. I am sure Doug will send out a menu.
