What is a faithful friend? A faithful friend is one who is there when the sun is shining but also there when the storms of life roll into your world. They understand your heart because they've chosen to know it. A faithful friend loves you in spite of yourself and that love is put into an action that you can always count on. A faithful friend doesn't run when they can't handle your life, they pray, they stand with their swords drawn ready to do battle for you and all the while they encourage you with words from God. A faithful friend rejoices over victories in your life and sheds tears with you during defeats. They love you at all times, even when you're unloveable. A faithful friend has you in their heart, so you have become part of them and you will know it by their actions, their speech, and their attitude toward you. A faithful friend leaves no doubt that they love you....no questions, no fears. A faithful friend doesn't want you to be just like them, they want you to be better. A faithful friend is one of your greatest prayer warriors, one you can turn to when you need intercession.....they're willing to lay aside whatever just for you.
Today friendship has fallen on hard times.Few men have good friends, much less deep friendships.Individualism, autonomy, privatization, and isolation are culturally cachet, but deep, devoted, vulnerable friendship is not. This is a great tragedy for self, family, and the Church, because it is in relationships that we develop into what God wants us to be…Friendships…are there to be made if we value them as we ought – and if we practice some simple disciplines of friendship.~Kent Hughes
That is a true meaning of the friendship for all. It how we are going to build it through Jesus for his purpose for others.. He a very good sample of what the meaning of it is..For he loved us first and we ought to love one another without jealous without envy without belittle and we need to add more and more of Jesus love for all.. We need to learn to put our troubles on the side and be there for a friend when the time of the need to be for them,, Love you Cindy I thank God for you and for Ken... Blessing
Shelley: Amen, sis. He loved us first, that is the love we are to have. He gave us life, and this is also what we're to do...give life through love, not kill with the fruits of the flesh. It's true friendship. Love you very much Shelley Tater!
True friends are rare these days...Oh how I miss the friends I have met, known, worked with, etc the last 35 plus years.

Hi Cinder's, :-) I've heard it said that only 20% of the human body is made up of vital organs. Every other organ thereafter supports that 20%. So although you write about faithfulfriendships, I think its vital to have friendships in our lives - because each one supports the other. So going back to John 15:13 where it mentions about friends? Each one of us should give something up in order to help somebody else. Those who do that are vital for our survival. Think about it in Jesus terms. There were 12 disciples (friends), which narrowed down to 4, to which we only really know about two. And one of them wrote 2/3rds of the New Testament. He was that vital friendship for which we wouldn't know half the stuff we know if it wasn't for his devotion and support throughout. Translating that into modern-day language about devotion and support? If it wasn't for the friendships around us, backtracking slightly to before that comment, we wouldn't know half the stuff we know if it wasn't for other people who take time-out, therefore allow us to change our perception to what was - to what is. I am so thankful that people take time-out. You, Ken and a few others I could mention are such people. So I thank you all.
To have someone to see you for yourself and accept you just as you are. That's what Jesus did and that is what He wants us to do. We are all children of the Most High and He loves us regardless....
Stevie: Thanks so much for what you added.......you should do a blog on that, it's awesome!!!!! Seriously, your thoughts on this need to be blogged!!!! You are one of the ones Ken and I are thankful for too. Thanks, bro!
