| Urgent Prayer Request - Spousal Abuse - Update - June 2, 2009 |

Posted March 20, 2009 I hardly know where to begin on this request as the matter is grave and urgent. I know a lady in Germany who is married to a man who calls himself a pastor (and indeed he has a church body that he attends to each week). This couple lives together but they have not had marital relations for some time. She continues to live with him b/c she has no income of her own and she is at least able to eat and have a roof over her head while she lives with her husband. The woman feels trapped. Her husband is emotionally abusive and this has led her to a depressive and helpless state. She refuses to seek help because she feels trapped and alone. I think that she is deeply depressed and cannot make any moves on her own b/c everything just seems too overwhelming. I don't know who to send her to in Germany and the city where she lives there are few Christians. She says she feels humiliated to go to a woman's shelter and even if she had money she doesn't know where to go as she only has one son who cannot take her in. I have tried to get her to go to social services of some kind or a woman's shelter but she hasn't to date. I just learned that things escalated on Saturday. I guess the husband provoked her to the point that she slapped his arm. He then called the police and accused her of beating him. She is still in the home but she is now afraid of what he might do next. I prayed with her by email today and am trying to encourage her. Please pray for God to open some way of reaching her and helping her as only God can do.
Update from my friend in Germany (after I shared Gaye's comments with her about abuse) Oh Penny, this is so lovely of you! Thank you and thank this lady too. The first part she wrote is exactly my situation here... It paralyzes individuals from getting out of the abuse.

And as you know, my situation is worse, since I had this horrible burnout in the first place, which had already paralized me, now this on top of it, makes thins 100times worse... as you know, I hardly get of of this house here and Andreas never helped in this either, since we're having these problems. so I by myself feel totally unable to do something here, I have no physical strength, not to speak of the psychological ones. I really need what you said before, somebody to come and take me out of here... pack my stuff, my birdies and go... If I move within this city here, I won't be able to move again, the social departments only pay once. Staying in this town here all by myself would be horrible... nio christians, no church, you might remember what I told you about htis place here, so I'd need to go back up north, close to Hamburg, where my son is.
this lady is ever so right in what she said about my situation here, tell her thank you and give her my greetings. there is no problem if you tell my name. What you said, a supernatural deliverance here, getting me out of this place, but PLEASE WITH my stuff... I have already lost my complete household once serveral years ago, I don't want to experience this again.... Would be a challenge if God would take me to your place! Or to Abbortsford where there is a good church I know of.
You know the thing which is so frustrating too is the fact that there is absolutely nobody here at this place with who to have a personal contact. This woman Inge who took me to church in this neighboring place, doesn't come anymore for about 2 months now, and I am completely isolated. She got annoyed with me because I was talking to her misbehaving son, telling him to be nicer to his mom and she said, I am intervening.... oh my, I feel attacked from all sides.
Oh my.. I will stop here, else I'll spit all my soul out here...

Birgit June 2, 2009 I haven't heard much from my friend Birgit in Germany. She did write recently and I know she still needs your prayers. She is still living with her husband. I think she feels He will have her committed to a mental institution or arrested. He seems to be setting the stage for something as he has called the police to come to the house at least once or twice. Birgit really doesn't feel she has anywhere to go and no money to get help. I pray you will continue interceding for her. Especially those of you who understand this kind of spiritual battle. The Lord bless you.

Father your child is suffering right now and needs your help. I pray that a way will be opened so that she can escape this situation. I pray that she comes before you and ask in the name of Jesus for your help. I pray that her husband will realize that what he is doing is wrong. God grant her comfort and protection in Jesus name - Amen

Lord I pray that You will direct her to that place give her the strength that she needs to do so and give her a large portion of Your protection.
Father I ask that You will also bring her husband to his knees and let him see clearly just what he has been guilty of, . Amen |

Spousal abuse is straight from the very pits of hell. It is designed to erode and corrode the very fiber of a person's being. It paralyzes individuals from getting out of the abuse. It causes the victim to seek approval from the abuser and steals their personal power, self worth, dignity, and a sense of significance. It causes the victim to become addicted to the abuse and fail to get out because they feel they have no control over their own activities and behaviors and instead the acitivities and behaviors of the abuser have control of them. The abuser works under a spirit of control among other things and failure to oblige or obey this divious spirit will cause it to retaliate violently. I am saying all of these to help you understand what we are dealing with as we pray very specifically in this situation.
These prayers are taken from Cindy Trimm's book, "The Rules of Engagement" on spiritual warfare. I pray these prayers daily. I know about abuse and today I know what I am dealing with. I know who the enemy is.
In the name of Jesus, we lift up this precious lady to you. We decree, in the name of Jesus, that by the anointing, all covenants, contracts, chains, fetters, bondages and captivities that are contrary to, oppose, or hinder the fulfillment of God's original plan and puposes for her are broken. She is liberated from generational/satanic/demonic alliances, soul ties, spirits of inheritance and curses. We specifically speak to the spirits of addiction, abuse, codependency, fear of retaliation, lack of self expression, rejection, self-blame, fear, compromise, discouragement, oppression, cowardice, physical weariness.fatigue, ,martyr syndrome, and we cast them out in the name of Jesus and sever them by the sword of the Lord, the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Open her up to divine deliverance and release peace, self-control, righteousness, love, boldness, sound mind, purpose, hope, maturity, liberty and courage into her life. We release her name into the atmosphere. Allow prayer warriors to pick her up in the realm of the spirit and pray, reinforcing a hedge of protection around her. Let them not cease or come down from their watchtowers until their assignments concerning this lady have been completed. We decree and declare that they will conduct their intercessory assignments under the direction of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ, who is her chief intercessor. We decree and declare that the laws that govern these prayers and all spiritual warfare strategies and tactics are binding by the Word, the blood of Jesus, and by the Holy Spirit. (I John 5:7-8) We decree and declare that every spirit released from their diabolical assignment against her now becomes a part of Jesus footstool. (Ps. 110:1) We seal this prayers in the name of Jesus. Amen.
