So, I've been trying to work through the Psalms. Though many find the Psalms fun and easy to dig in to, I find it very difficult. BUT I stumbled into Psalm 22 tonight though. I read halfway through it before I realized what David was really writing about. I totally missed what he was saying alltogether just because I wanted to just keep reading through the Psalms so I can move on (I'm trying to read straight through the Bible, and please know that it's taken me a few years to even get to this point, but it's been a joyous ride all the while). To help keep my on track, I've been making notes of the Psalms to help me keep focused as I read through them. Tonight was different than the rest. I read through Psalm 22 and I read it again and again. Here is what I wrote in my notes:

The prophecy of Jesus. I can't help but think of the cross, the beatings, the emotion of being beaten and tortured for MY sin, for MY blame. I am why He endured. I am why He endured. He took MY sin and took that upon Him. He took MY punishment and held that over HIS head. He took MY beating. He took MY suffering and it became HIS! I am why He endured. I am why He endured. He found me worth it. He endured because He found me worth the load. He found me worth the beating and punishment and torture. I am why He endured. I am why He walked the road. I am why He suffered. He found me worth the pain. He sat back and said that He would do anything so that I might live, so that I might live with Him in the Kingdom. I am why He endured. Amazing Love! Amazing Love! Love that has pushed all bounds. Love that has no boundries! Love that survives beyond death. Love never ending. Jesus, my God! Thank you O Lord! Thank you for loving me this way. Thank you for choosing me first. Thank you for enduring. Thank you for showing me my worth. Thank you for showing me the depths of your love. Thank you for enduring all that I am due and more. Thank you for covering ALL my sin and shame. Thank you! Thank you thank you THANK YOU! Your act of love is more amazing than I could ever know. I love you for loving me! I LOVE YOU!


Remember the cross. Remember all that He took upon Himself for you. Remember that He hung on the cross for you. Remember that He did it all because He loves you and He wouldn't have it any other way. Remember that His love has no bounds. Remember that and allow Him to love you like He has always wanted to love you.
