I ain't shunnin' you!

"Sometimes I feel weird that in this day of almost universal toleration, my thing is so shunned and rejected. But since I've been given something so wonderful as a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, I can't be bothered by lack of popularity and other people's negative opinions. Loving Jesus -- It's my thing!"
I can identify with how you feel but as I see it loving Jesus is a grace that has been given me not just for myself but to pass on to others. What I find weird, and what belts my chemicals about is when others who claim to love Jesus as I do and even work along side me most of the time quite clearly go to bat for the enemy when the chips are down for the sake of popularity or clan association. Paul had the same problem of course but he didn't retreat into his personal relationship, save to gain strength for the next pastoral outreach. It is no longer I that live but the Jesus of Gethsemane that lives in me.

Appreciate that, Joey.

Amen, Alex.  Too often we Christians work for the wrong side.

The shunning that we feel in this country is nothing compared to the suffering and torture that Christians in other countries feel.We aren't accepted b/c Jesus was not accepted.Thank God that I have a true relationship with our Lord Jehovah.

I was waiting for you to say, your thing to do, is to have that deep
relationship with Jesus. It's amazing that so many others shun this and don't understand.
I have had people tell me, that's good for you and their happy for me! But they themselves
reject this relationship. and  know a lot of people who believe in the whole religious act.
I pray for them. They need deliverance.
I'm glad that you have been set free Steve. Keep on having a strong connection with Your Lord.
You are a blessing, as the Lord has blessed you to encourage us!!

Gina:  How I wanted to be a witness for so many years.  I took courses.  I forced myself to talk to people when I was afraid.  I used tracks and pamplets.  Still I was afraid.

A few years ago God showed me an easy way to witness.  Of course, we must be living right and obeying Jesus or our witness will be rejected.

All you need to do is ask someone:  "May I pray for you?"  I am amazed that at least 90% of people say sure.  Sometimes they even reach out and take my hands.  Then I pray and God touches them.  The hardest drug dealer may be in tears.  That is because they are feeling God's Presence.  It is not about my words.  It is not about my teaching them or preaching to them.  It is about my taking them to the living, resurrected Jesus.  I have fouind praying with someone to be an amazing way to do that.  Try it, Gina.

Brother Steve, put me down for Jesus being my thing.... I want to get so heavenly minded that those watching my life will realize, I'm not earthly good. Bev Shea sang it best, I'd rather have Jesus than anything this ole world afford today. More than a trillion dollars....

That sounds like a great way to start a witness...Ask to be able to pray for someone, I'll let you know how it goes! Thanx Steve Love, Tammy :)

Yes, it's all about Jesus. Re; witnessing, it will always be our lives that speak the loudest. But in our church some of our evangelism teams have tried wearing tops with this printed on them: "My name is .... Can I pray for you?" You could try that.
