| An Unbent Knee Will Prevent Revival |
|
| |
5:17 Pray without ceasing. Another thing that will prevent revival from breaking out is an UNBENT KNEE. James 4:2 says "You have not because you ask not, and when you ask you ask amiss hoping to consume it upon your own lusts." Apply that to revival. When was the last time you asked God to revive your life, your church, your city, your nation? If you are not asking then why should you receive? Another thought is, why are you asking for revival? So you can have a good time? So your church can grow? So you or your church can become famous? Those are selfish motives and unfortunately though your request is good your motives are not therefore God won't be moved by your prayers. However, if we will pray so that God will be glorified, that Jesus would be lifted up, and that people will get saved and others will draw closer to the Lord, that is something I believe is in God's heart to do. Zephaniah 1:4-6 says God will cut off those who follow other gods and have turned back from the Lord and those that have not sought the LORD, or enquired for Him. Remember, if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and PRAY & SEEK MY FACE.....THEN we shall hear from Heaven. The importantance of prayer can not be underestimated. God is pleased when we cry out to Him and call upon Him. God is looking for someone to stand in the gap between Him and a sinful world. Will you be that person? Will you pray? Will you pray for your lost friends? Will your pray for yourself, not that you might get something but that you may impart something? Will you pray that God will be glorified? Will you pray His Kingdom come? Will you pray for His will to be done? Will you pray for your church to tune it's spiritual ears to hear what the Spirit is saying? Will you pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit? Will you pray the LORD of the Harvest to send forth laborers into His harvest field? Will you pray for your nation? Will you pray for your city that strongholds will be torn down for our weapons are mighty through God! Don't be deceived and think that your prayers don't matter because they do! Remember the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous person avails/accomplishes much! |

Hi Todd,
So God is sitting up there in heaven with his arms folded just waiting on us to pray enough? And then He is going to send forth revival?
I completely agree with you that we are in bad need of a revival. I just have to disagree with you that prayer is the way that comes.
God wants revival in our lives, in our churches, in our country, and in our world more than we do. When we start feeding the poor, clothing the homeless, raising the dead, casting out demons, and healing the sick, like He told us to do, and we do this enough that the world begins to take notice, then we'll have all the revival we can stand!
"God is looking for someone to stand in the gap between Him and a sinful world."
I think God found His man! 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

| Revival is not even a word in the bible. When something is revived it is simply brought back to life. There have been many movements but after a crusade or "revival" service the brethren slip right back into the same condition they were in before the crusade. The old way of doing things doesn't work anymore. We keep thinking that God is going to do things the way he did them before. God doesn't work that way. He is going to do a new thing. We need transformation. A whole reworking of the former mindset that is performance driven. Prayer is necessary but we also need to straighten the feebele knees and lift up the hands that hang down. the great commission was given to everyone, not a select few. How many people in the church actually bring visitors regularly? How many are going door to door? How many are witnessing? How many are living right? The reason we may not be seeing growth is because things are not in order. God is an orderly God. Put everything in its proper place and do things the way God wants them done and God will work through our obedience. Then when we pray God will answer. Obedience is better than sacrifice. Shalom |

Jay and Marjay: Psalm 85:5-7 5Wilt thou be angry with us for ever? wilt thou draw out thine anger to all generations? 6Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? 7Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
Now to Mike, Jay, and Marjay: Action is required, but not to pray and to consult God is foolish. Jesus only worked where He saw His Father working. How will you know where He is working if you are not in tune with Him? I am shocked that saints do not see the need for prayer. Prayer alone is not going to bring revival, but many if not all great moves of God came about when people started praying. Sorry about the bold print...did that for the verse but could not reverse it. Maybe I should pray about it? LOL

| Sounds to me like prayer is a great starting point...and far more. And I also see that the importance of prayer is a lifelong lesson for me. Thanks for your care and effort in reaching out to us, Todd. It is appreciated. |

| You have brought insight into my prayer life! I now realize that I need to pray deeper and ask for the things that I ask for that it might lift up the Lord and his Bride! |

Praise the Lord Brother Todd...I am by no means agreeing that people need not pray or consult the Lord...for that indeed my friend IS foolish. Man ought ALWAYS to pray and not to faint (smile)...But in regards to revival..This world that we are living in (this final generation) is progessing along, just as prophecies in the bible said that it would....There is a famine in the land....Not of bread and water...but for the WORD OF GOD....Men do not want to walk according to the Word of God...but according to their own minds, and what they want to do. If this world got back to the very basics of the gospel....The Laws and Commandments of God....There WOULD be revival....If, just the Christians would Love the Lord with their whole heart....have no other gods before Him...Keep the Sabbath Day Holy....Not use Gods Name in vain..then how we treat others WOULD fall in line....there would be no killing, stealing, lying, adultery, and wanting what your neighbors has.....There would be heaven on earth.....full of the Glory of God....Back to life (Revival) (smile)
By all means YES we pray.....I pray unceasingly that Gods people will come to the knowledge of the truth, and I do NOTHING without inquiring of the Lord....but I know what day we are living in..and mens hearts are wicked and evil.....We can pray for all the revival we want....but no real change is coming UNTIL JESUS COMES and sets up His Kingdom here ON EARTH...Remember II Chron. 7:14....If My people who are called by Name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek my Face, and TURN from their wicked ways....THEN...He shall hear from Heaven, and will forgive our sins, and heal the land......
Until ALL the criteria has been met....As a whole....God is NOT going to heal this land......and that my friend is not DOUBT and UNBELIEF....That is just simply the Word of God....For those that adhere to the Word of God, and walk in obedience to Him, He promised to keep us in perfect Peace...So I plant seeds, keep praying, and I am believing God to do marvelous things, and bring in souls to the Kingdom of God ;o) |

| We are all called to pray, but those called to a life of intercessory prayer are so overlooked and yet absolutely crucial and necessary in the Body of Christ!!!!! So many want the visible recognized gifts and callings, but our reward is great in seeking God's face (He rewards those who diligently seek Him) and praying for others. |
