LETTER TO THE EPHESIANS THE MONTHLY NEWSLETTER OF EPHESUS BAPTIST CHURCH Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:2)
April 2009
As we think about what it means to be Southern Baptist one word that should come to mind is cooperation. We believe that each individual church has the right and responsibility to govern itself, yet we also choose to cooperate with other like-minded churches to advance God’s Kingdom. The last Sunday of April has been labeled “Cooperative Program Sunday” in which we celebrate the giving mechanism of the Southern Baptist Convention in which each church willfully chooses to financially support the many missions endeavors of our convention. The Cooperative Program is one of the greatest tools by which we can all work together to promote the Gospel. Speaking of cooperation, there are many wonderful opportunities for Ephesus to cooperate with other churches this month. As I am writing this letter, we are eagerly awaiting the Spring Revival Services that are scheduled to take place March 29-April 1 with Bro. Kyle Rader as our preacher. Please continue praying for a movement of the Holy Spirit and for lasting fruit from these meetings. Also pray for me as I will be preaching revival messages at our sister church, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, the first week of May. This month we will also celebrate Resurrection Day. Let me encourage you to take part in the Good Friday community services on April 10th at Central Baptist Church. The Unity March will begin at 11:30 and the worship service will take place at noon. Also remember the many Easter activities here at Ephesus including our own Good Friday service at 7:00pm, a SONrise service on Easter Sunday at 8:30am, and Easter egg hunt for the children following morning worship services. We have every reason to celebrate the resurrection. Remember, life is worth the living because He lives!
In Christ,
Bro. Todd
