| An Unburdened Heart |
|
| |
When Jesus saw the multitude of people he had compassion upon them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. They had been harassed and distressed by the Devil and all that is in the world. One thing is for certain is that God loves humanity. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. God is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. Unfortunately, there are two realities that many do not want to come to grips with. One reality is that there is an eternal judgment for those who die without Christ. It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgment. God will by no means let the guilty go unpunished. Therefore, knowing the terror of the Lord we persuade men. The second reality is Jesus is the only way to God. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life and no man comes to the Father but by me." Neither is their salvation in any other for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. If there was another way do you think that Jesus would have had to die on the cross? Jesus prayed to the Father, in so many words, "If there be any other way, let this cup (of suffering) pass from me." but, there was no other way. The only way was for the obedience of THE ONE to be the representative of us all. Jesus is the only way to God. I know this is a hard line and is a narrow way, but the road to life is narrow and only a few find it. If this is the case, which I believe is, that there is a fiery judgment for those who die without faith Christ and that faith in Jesus is the only way to God then we have a tremendous obligation to tell everyone around us about Christ and what He did for us.
I think it grieves the Spirit for us to have an unburdened heart towards the lost. To be indifferent towards them, and not to care if they come to faith in Christ or not. It should consume us in every aspect of our life, faith, and practice to bear witness of what God has done in your life through your faith in Christ. Imagine if you had discovered the cure to AIDS or all Cancer would you keep it to yourself or only it share it with those who you felt would receive it? What if some people didn't believe you that you had found the cure, would that stop you from telling anyone? It is the will of the Father that we finish the work that Jesus started on this earth. What is that? Not the atonement, but reconciling man to God. For God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself and has now given us a ministry of reconciliation. Do you not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest'? I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." What does that mean four more months and then comes the harvest? He is saying "don't say ah we have time before harvest comes. It's only Summer it is not harvest season yet. Don't procrastinate and don't be deceived for God says, the fields are white unto harvest, meaning they are ready to be reaped! People are ready to be saved! All they are waiting on is for someone to tell them. How shall they hear without a preacher? You are that preacher! You are the one that can testify and bear witness of the grace and goodness of God! In the words of the great singer song writer Keith Green: "How can you be so numb not to care if they come? Don't close your eyes and pretend the job is done." It is God's desire for all to come to repentance and He is using you and me to reach them with the good news. Don't have an unburdened heart for the lost for that grieves the heart of God. |

| Todd.....I don't know how it is possible to LOVE Jesus and be uncompassionate for the "lost" (those who don't know Jesus or the truth about God's love). It's a heart thing! Isn't a hard heart toward the lost also a hard heart toward the One who came to save the lost? |

Awesome word today. It is our duty to tell about Jesus to the ones who are lost. He came to save sinners, not the ones who already knew the good news. We tend to shy away from people who seem intolerable, angry, not like us!!! Jesus didn't. He stayed among the ones that others thought were reprehensible.
Keep your eye on the prize, home with our Father and bring everyone you can along with you. |

Marjay: Yes go into the highway and hedges and compell them to come in!
Mike: I would think so but in the last days the love of many will grow/wax cold. This is a unique principle and it applies to many areas of our life, but when we love Jesus and get to know Him, we begin to love the things that He loves. We value the things that He values. One of those "things" Jesus cares deeply about is people and their eternal destiny. I say you are right on the money!
Mary: Thanks! and yest it is our duty...and not just to share with the ones we like but to everyone! As God is no discriminator of persons! :) Bless you today! |

Thank you! You share the truth. What a blessing it is and a refreshing word to know that God needs his people to tell this world about his forgiveness. We all need to know how important it is for us to be the body of Christ. Jesus loves us so much that he gave therefore we should give. We have much to do in this hour. People are falling away from God everyday. We as Christians should not let this happen. We should give what has been given and that is true LOVE. Again THANK YOU TODD! for sharing the TRUTH of JESUS. May God continue to keep his blessings upon you. |

Dear Brother Todd, Oh.. this speaks to me. For we are the ones to speak out, to reach out and to pray for the lost. To care for them because they are His, and because they are.. I weep for them. This has been heavy in my heart. So very much.. Love, Joey |

Marjay: Yes highways and hedges and compell them to come in we have what they need.
Mike: I don't know either but somehow I think we get hardened over time to it all. I think it is a coping mechanism. For if we really were moved by people's spiritual situation we would see more coming to Christ than we do. Of course that is my opinion.
Mary: Yes, he came to seek and to save that which was lost and we should do no less.
Steve: Yes how will they hear without a preacher..so then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Jacob: Thankyou! God bless you!
Matt: My first comment? Wow! Thanks! Yes, people need to hear the gospel. There was an old song back in the 80s I think Steve Greene sang it. People Need The Lord. Do you remember it? When will we realize that people need the Lord?
Joey: I know you have a heart for the hurting and the broken! I know you don't just tell but you show your faith as well and when those two go hand in hand we see results! Thank you and God bless you. |
