Thanks, brother.  I, too have been struggling with prayer... like you I have so many excuses - when it all comes down to not being one to simply "take the time to pray" as your quote says.  Your challenge comes at a good time for me... just this morning I was convicted of my lack of faith as evidenced by my lack of prayer.  I think I may abstain from those things that I am habitually choosing as a priority over God - for a time.  In summary... I'm in.  It is for the sake of accountability that I write this [Romans 7:18-25] - not to proclaim anything about myself.

Funny Thing, I was just praying for a very sick newborn and wondering, more even asking God for a way to "pray better. " Meaning, not to speak better, but to acutally find a way to pray God's will, and mean it even if it means going against what I want. Your list breaks down to many things I knew but needed to be reminded of. Good timing!! Or God's good timing. LOL

I pray all the time.  Really.  Col 4:2 "Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."  That verse was laid and fell heavey on me a few years ago.  I try sometimes to make the whole day constant with prayer, though fail.  But here's the thing, it's become habit forming and insensitive.  Words obligated to a circumstance.  Can check that box off!  Lord, I repent, for not paying reverence to the way I speak with you, that I may even be speaking  at you, that I've approached your throne carelessly with petition.  And you've even answered and I am then even more humbled by your grace.  Thank you for the accountability you give us at Damascus Road.  I need it.
