Guys/Ladies,
Thank you for your encouragement & prayers. It was truly a "Massive" prayer vigil. I participated & performed in the previous "40 Days For Life" Rally. And we really didn't have a lot of people show up. They are having their 2nd one right now in the midst of the "Planned Parenthood" facility being under construction (this one will be the biggest one in the western hemisphere & a hub/headquarters for "late term" abortion for the South Central U.S. as well as South America & their conference/awards ceremony last night (They gave an award to Hillery Clinton-U.S. Sec. of State & wife of former president Bill Clinton). Last night, I showed up not expecting to see but maybe a 100 people at the most. However, I was pleasantly surprised. There looked to be close to 2,000 people who showed up wearing a "red shirt". They coralled us into a parking lot, handing us signs to hold (Mine say: "Jesus Saves & Heals") & then, we all walked down singing songs, some silently praying, & doing scripture/responsive reading. On the hill, across the st. from the George R. Convention Ctr., was a man holding up a sign with a picture of what a baby looks like after abortion. Quite disheartening, to be honest w/you. My friend teared up when she saw it. But I think it was good that the guy had the picture. As, these "Planned Parenthood" people need to see the reality of abortion. They did have police officers in the middle of the street, I guess for crowd control & in case there were any "crazies". Planned Parenthood was having their conference while we were outside "peacefully" protesting. I did notice that one girl was walking & got in the road "just a bit" & the police officer told her to get back on the sidewalk. She wasn't doing anything but I guess they felt they had to be careful. Anyways, it was really cool as people were driving by & seeing our signs. I think we were impossible to miss because of the red shirts. There were several TV stations in Houston televising our peaceful protest. I looked around & there were little kids & even babies among the crowd. When we gathered, an older lady made a comment about being happy to see "young ladies" among the crowd. I guess she may have felt that younger people all had a liberal view to it. But one thing's forsure, not every young lady is pro abortion. And my friend & I are both Christian Artists. The coolest thing about this was that this protest broke denominational lines among the Prodestants & Catholics. Among the denominations, we may have different beliefs but we had one common goal: We all agreed that "Abortion is wrong". Anyways, I didn't get to catch the news last night to see it. I'm hoping the media did things "the right way" (no crazies in this crowd). Bigger than that, I hope that those people (the Public, "Planned Parenthood", their special guest Hillery, & our newly elected Pro Choice "President") see that many people in Houston as well as around the U.S. & the world, are against abortion and won't stand by silently as innocent lives are taken due to the issue of "convenience". We are in America & we have freedoms. But I don't think that taking the life of an unborn child should be considered a "freedom of choice". When people kill other people that "are outside the womb", they go to prison and may even get the "death penalty" in some states. Hmmn, I wonder what makes them think this would be any different?
What I want to close with is to ask anyone who's reading this blog, if you're a Christian of any mainstream Christian denomination (Protestant or Catholic) to "pray" about this topic that they try to make into a "political issue" when it's really a "moral issue". Also, pray for the leaders of this country & for the Pro Choice people in regards to this topic as well as in general. Nothing happens if people sit by quietly, doing nothing and allow things to happen that are just "plain wrong". And "Prayer changes things". Anyways, an update from my eyes. There's more than likely more infor. on
www.Texasfamilies.org that I might have missed... Please, pray for the unborn.
In Christ,
"Tawana"
