One of the greatest tragedies in life is to see so many people (even some Christians) that are not able to live in a constant Spirit of Love.
Some people have never felt loved and others just make it the best they can between one experience of love to the next. When they do experience Christ's Love, they struggle to hang on to it for very long.
Christians can't stay in a Spirit of love because many have been raised to believe that God is angry with them. It's like He's waiting for them to do something right before He will love them.
New Christians, come to Christ and feel His love fill them up, join a local church, and are taught everything except the secrets pertaining to love. They learn to Tithe, Give, Witness, Serve, and on and on, and before you know it, religion has replaced the FIRST, most important thing - LOVE.
For those whom have not accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, they can only experience Christ's love from the external aspects,... From Gods mercy over all of mankind, and through the compassion of His people (Christians) whom reach out to them from time to time.
But staying in a Spirit of Love all the time is something the Lord really wants for you and I with all His heart.
I know this kind of love myself now and I am in no way boasting about it. It's actually embarrassing to share how long it took for me to allow the Lord to bring me to this point of love. Plus, I get anxious sometimes (and that's not good) to think how much further I have to go. But, the point is, I know it is possible to stay in a Spirit of love, all the time, no matter what. And, with this Spirit of Love comes great power, joy, peace, and wisdom. At some point in my life, Christ showed me the importance of His teachings about Love, and from them He has unlocked, revealed, and made alive even deeper levels of His Love to me. Listen to what He wants for us.
Ephesians 3:19. [That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
How,... In Awe, I am left, when I read this verse. I just want to Stop-Drop-And-Pray, every time I read this. We can believe this Word from the Bible today, my friends, because it is His Word, but just like He says right here, we can actually EXPERIENCE it too.
Being "rooted" and/or "grounded" in love unlocks even greater experience with love. Let's put the verse into context, and note in verse 17 how the importance of being rooted in "love" manifests the power and fullness of God.
14. For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15. from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, 16. that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17. so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18. may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19. and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Do you want the fullness of God? Do you want to comprehend the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ? Do you want to experience something that surpasses all knowledge? Then learn about His Love,... Learn what He says Love is,... Learn what it means for you to love and what Love looks like. To be rooted and grounded in Love means to learn what it means, where it comes from, and all there is to know about it. As you learn some, He will reveal more, and then still more.
Is He trying to teach us to Love?,... Yes, sure He is, but He is also "Himself" Loving through us at the same time. He is also revealing more of Himself through our increased knowledge about Love. Because, I love Him, I love you, and I want for you, what He wants for us all. It is the most important thing. Amen?
I Love you. |
