We hear about people daily, who bleed to death in a matter of minutes or days. A person who sustained a head injury in an accident can produced what doctors call "walk and die". He will seem fine but swiftly deteriorate due to bleeding or hemorrhaging of the brain. The life is drained away from the body.
In our lives a cut, scratch, or abrasion starts out as no big deal, but then gets infected if we do not take care of it. If neglected, the infection can grow causing severe damage to the body. An infected wound hurts and it needs to be dealt with in order to heal.
In the church of God many believers are bleeding on the inside. They are wounded, bleeding internally where no one will see it. They are carrying issues dragged from past pain, marriage, childhood, culture… The wound on the surface that was never dealt with has become infected. The infection has gone so deep that many are hemorrhaging. Bleeding internally, loosing life and there is no Pastor, Minister or Elder that can help them. They can’t get deeper into the Word of God or get closer because they do not want people to know. “You can’t go there. Can’t touch this!” For some, it has been so long that they don’t ever remember what or who wounded them. There is no closeness because we have not dealt with the issue and the issue is draining life away from us. Furthermore, there is no intimacy because we did not speak about the infidelity, the argument, doubts, abuse, the misbehavior, or the sins. “If I don’t talk about it, it will go away.” but it does not.
The little misunderstanding grew into resentment because it was never brought to the surface to be dealt with. The intimacy, “the you are into me and I am into you,” is broken because we do not to talk about it. The little scratch has become an infected wound that hurts so bad that we can’t afford to talk about it without a scream of “sensitivity” coming out. Can’t touch this! Loosing life every minute that goes by and the issue is still not dealt with.
Matthews 9: 20-22 “Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed." Jesus turned and saw her. "Take heart, daughter," he said, "your faith has healed you." And the woman was healed from that moment”, This woman had been bleeding for twelve years, undoubtedly physically and emotionally drained. She had suffered greatly at the hands of many doctors and had spent all that she had. Yet she was not helped but only grew worse. When she found Jesus, the scripture lets us know that she pressed to get the healing that she needed. She was so determined that she was not going to let man, nor their laws, stand in her way. She pressed forward and touched the cloak and she was healed of her issue.
Unresolved issues not only slowly drain spiritual life away but it also can produce the death of the spirit. Never deal with issues will become the big problem that can cost you more than your mortal life, your eternal life. The woman step out of her comfort zone took great courage and strength and brought her issue to Jesus. She had so much faith, she did not need an appointment to see Him, she did not have to even touch Him, she knew that His anointing was so great that all she had to do was just touch the hem of his garment. We need to get, not to the medical doctor, but to the Doctor of Doctors, Jesus Christ. We need to be looked into and be healed from the internal bleeding we are suffering today. We need to realize that Jesus is not a last resort, but the first person we should call on in the time of trouble. Many touched Jesus that day but only the woman’s life was transformed because she saw Him as her only source! If your life is anything but whole today, come to Jesus. He will help you with the issue you are facing. The sooner we come to realize that Jesus is the only person Who can help us, the sooner we can get the help we need!
Jesus came into this world and made His way to the cross and as He went through this world the cross was always before Him. But along the way there were people who were hurting, along the way there were people who had needs and so Jesus stopped along the way to Calvary to help people who had human needs. Press and get closer, move forward and touch Him. He has the power and wants to change your situation, touch Him by faith!
20:24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may accomplish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.
