With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who are made in the likeness of God.
God has really been dealing with me on my mouth. One minute I am uplifting God and the next...talking about my sister or brother...even if its truthful,doesnt give me the right to talk about them, I know better.Im guilty and I see so many Christians doing this.They think its ok because they are conversing with another Christian and they call it "fellowship or prayer request"...its called gossip among other things . No wonder the world doesnt look at Christians any different than themselves.Its just like the Pharisees and Sadducees were in the bible.They couldnt see past their self righteousness or holier than thou attitude. I preach at my kids if you have nothing nice to say, than say nothing at all. Unless its to that person and in love! Even if you have your differences....if its done in the right way,not out of anger or bitterness... but in love,at least I believe you can walk away with knowing you acted as Christ would..love conquers all.
You can take this verse in so many ways...but this is what God has been dealing with me about. What right do I have to say something negative about someonelse Christian or not. You never who is watching and listening....if not ...it should be enough to know God is! |
