Dear Birdie,
I agree with you about this "seemingly" harmless devotion to Harry Potter, Twilight and other such portals into the occult.  It is amazing the multitudes of children and young adults being swept into this delusion of "harmless fun".  I can still recall the shivers that ran up my spine when I would come home from school to see "Dark Shadows" on the television while my mother was ironing clothes.  At the time, my Mom just thought of it as a "campy" humorous pasttime while she was doing chores, but there was evil lurking subtlly in the shadows.  We must vigorously guard our hearts, as well as, our childrens', from the cunning devices that seep in to destroy us.  There is enough evil in the world without inviting it into our homes.
Love 'ya,

My beloved Birdie:

Where should the Father in heaven begin with such a people as this? Those professing their faith in his name have come to believe that they have attained all the wisdom and knowledge that there is to know, and that the rest of mankind must adhere to them or else hellfire. You are doing that which you are appointed to do, and your neighbor is doing that which he is appointed to do: that which you do is not that which your neighbor is appointed to do; and that which your neighbor is doing is not that which you are to do. Each member has their own gift and function to benefit the body as a whole: and all are where they are to be; divinely directed. Do you not know that our loving Father in secret is inspiring the Twilight phenomenon? Do you not know that he has done many righteous works to draw and educate even the most rebellious and heathenistic (idolatrous; self-righteous; egotistical) believers of our time? My beloved Birdie: The Father in heaven yearns to lovingly teach all men about his patient love for each member - the time is come for the Christian to seek the perspective of Almighty God.

Eternally with you!

Thanks Birdie, this is important to consider!! Well, maybe only for those who strongly desire to walk closely and cleanly w/the Savior. No wait, it's more important than that! I'm forwarding the link!!! Thanks!

Lets look at what God says about it: Deut 18:9-14 KJV: 9 When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you any onethat maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, orthat useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13 Thou shalt be perfecta with the LORD thy God. 14 For these nations, which thou shalt possessb, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
a perfect: or, upright, or, sincere
b possess: or, inherit

AngelFaces I love what you said about there being enough evil in the world without inviting it into our homes. I have been so greived by the headlines recently--mayhem everywhere you look and so many innocent people caught in the crossfire. I'm very thankful that Pastor Dan stepped forward to share his insights. We have an important task (a God given mandate) to raise up our children to be wise enough to avoid the lures of these dark influences permeating their culture.
Brother
Nick I feel your soft rebuke, but this is not my agenda that I'm pushing here--it's the Word of God--and He doesn't split hairs. The article challenges teens to use the Word of God as a litmus test for what is being promoted to them by the media--the entertainment industry and the retailers have no stake in their spiritual well being, but we do. I won't apologize for creating a platform for this message to teens. It's important. And, my brother, Godly wisdom is the only wisdom and I will never have it all.
Mike thank you for passing it on!
Jewlz ...I love your PS!!! You rock!

  [star!]

Birdie,
Thanks for posting this.  I do most of my book shopping online, and I've noticed an increase in that stuff, and on tube as well.

I'm passing it on.  God bless you!
