TEEN CENTER FOR NON-VIOLENCE

The Teen Center for Non-Violence opened in the summer of 2007 as a safe
haven for teen hurricane survivors and their families.  It is raising
awareness about the correlation between the increase in teen crime and
suicide post-Katrina and the lack of mental health care being provided
to teen hurricane survivors.  The safe haven offers Greater New Orleans
teenagers mental solace through mentoring, leadership development,
cultural expression, service learning, and academic enrichment
activities..

The teen center must prove it can draw the support of at least 660
online supporters to win award money that will fund the expansion of the
center!
