| Free -- The World's Greatest Treasure |
|
| |
From the moment you were born you have possessed the world's richest treasure. In fact, you brought it into the world with you. Nothing that you ever accomplish in your life will be as valuable to you as this original treasure. All the awards you ever win; all the money you ever make; all the goals you ever achieve; all the records you ever break; all the possessions you ever gather; will mean nothing to you when you have to give up your first treasure.
Every new born baby has this great treasure, custom made. Very few people would ever willingly give it up for any price. Yet in the effort to achieve so-called "success" many people forget all about the greatest treasure that is their only true "success". The world's greatest success and richest treasure is to possess and enjoy human life.
Perhaps a small child does it best, taking in all the sights, sounds, and sensations for the very first time with an innocent delight. But the joys, pleasures, and curiosity of childhood are often put away by adolescents and adults.
We forget about our natural born success and begin to climb the so-called "ladder of success", to keep up with the Joneses, to make something out of ourselves. But nothing we can ever make out of ourselves in financial terms (or any other way) can ever hold a candle to what we really are: A Natural Born Winner!
Human life is an awesome treasure! Invest yours well.

| That explains why I like children's ministry so much. :) Teaching kids really means that I will be taught. And inspired. And encouraged. And blown away by the insights those little souls have that my cynical attitude would have overlooked. Makes a lot of sense -- good word! :) |

Steve very well said. I should like to add we are born also natural born sinners. Paul speaks of it as our carnal nature we are all born with hence need to be reborn from. But you are right: Every human life is a treasure and a special gift from God. I thank God for every breath you take and everystep you make. Bless you this Easter and may the power of the Resurrection sustain you now and always.
Pastor Chuck: Wanted to say Hi to Lara, Mar Jay, and Denise. I know they are a blessing to me as I know they are to you! |
