14:10 Then Judas Iscariot, who was one of the twelve, went to the chief priests in order to betray him to them. 14:11 And when they heard it they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought an opportunity to betray him.

19:35 And they brought it to Jesus, and throwing their garments on the colt they set Jesus upon it. 19:36 And as he rode along, they spread their garments on the road. 19:37 As he was now drawing near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, 19:38 saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" 19:39 And some of the Pharisees in the multitude said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." 19:40 He answered, "I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out."

19:17So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called the place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew Gol'gotha. 19:18 There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. 19:19 Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross; it read, "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews." 19:20 Many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, in Latin, and in Greek. 19:21 The chief priests of the Jews then said to Pilate, "Do not write, 'The King of the Jews,' but, 'This man said, I am King of the Jews.'" 19:22 Pilate answered, "What I have written I have written." 19:23 When the soldiers had crucified Jesus they took his garments and made four parts, one for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was without seam, woven from top to bottom; 19:24 so they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be." This was to fulfil the scripture, "They parted my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots." 19:25So the soldiers did this. But standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Mag'dalene. 19:26 When Jesus saw his mother, and the disciple whom he loved standing near, he said to his mother, "Woman, behold, your son!" 19:27 Then he said to the disciple, "Behold, your mother!" And from that hour the disciple took her to his own home. 19:28 After this Jesus, knowing that all was now finished, said (to fulfil the scripture), "I thirst." 19:29 A bowl full of vinegar stood there; so they put a sponge full of the vinegar on hyssop and held it to his mouth. 19:30 When Jesus had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished"; and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

19:31 Since it was the day of Preparation, in order to prevent the bodies from remaining on the cross on the sabbath (for that sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. 19:32 So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him; 19:33 but when they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and water.

28:1Now after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Mag'dalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre. 28:2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone, and sat upon it. 28:3 His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. 28:4 And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. 28:5 But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 28:6 He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. 28:7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Lo, I have told you." 28:8 So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. 28:9 And behold, Jesus met them and said, "Hail!" And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. 28:10 Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid; go and tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me."
