So guys tonight is Wednesday. And for those of you who can read a calendar, it is the Wednesday before Easter. And tonight I had youth group. Well it only made sense for my youth pastor to talk about Jesus. Which isn’t odd but what he did tonight was he walked us through Jesus’ life from when he was praying in the garden to when he died on the cross. And what he said struck a chord in my heart. The way he used words to paint a picture in our group’s hearts and minds brought some of us to tears. The way we treat something like that just seems so wrong. I know a few people who can talk about this and still just treat it as if it was an everyday occurrence, and that’s sad to me. The way some people just cannot be moved by what he was put thro and the agony and suffering and all that pain and still how can you not be moved? How can you not think wow, he must really love me to do that. I wish I could say exactly what he said tonight. I wish I could have written down every word so that you could read it and see the picture he painted. The picture he painted with just words. Just words, no music, no sound, no shouting or screaming. Just his words and the silence of the room. And to think that, that could bring tears to someone’s eyes just makes me wonder what all was happening if you were really there. Standing on the grass breathing the air in and hearing voices screaming “Crucify him! Crucify him!” But I can’t and I wasn’t there. But I just wanted to say some things I learned tonight and remind you guys that we should really think about that and how much God loves us…. Here are some lil facts I learned…. · 14:44 Now he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that is he; take him, and lead him away safely. 14:45 And when he was come, straightway he came to him, and saith, Rabbi; and kissed him.
A kiss in Israel means complete and utter devotion to one person, the person you kiss. That is why Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss. It was the ultimate betrayal. · 18:4 Jesus therefore, knowing all the things that were coming upon him, went forth, and saith unto them, Whom seek ye? 18:5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am `he'. And Judas also, who betrayed him, was standing with them. 18:6 When therefore he said unto them, I am `he', they went backward, and fell to the ground. 18:7 Again therefore he asked them, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
When Jesus asked the soldiers who they were looking for and they said “ Jesus of Nazareth.” When Jesus replied, “ I am He” they literally fell to the ground. Hearing that knocked the wind out of them. · 18:3 Judas then, having received the band `of soldiers', and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
In a certain bible there is a word used here, though I can’t remember the word nor the type of bible (tehe sorry bout that) I do remember that the word used here means 300-600 soldiers. 300-600 soldiers came to take 1 guy. Just 1 guy.
· Adam and Eve had a specific time when they would just hang out and talk with God. When they ate the forbidden fruit they no longer could. Sin separated them. When Jesus died it says that the curtain in the Holiest of Holy’s (sorry if I have bad spelling) was torn from top to bottom letting us have the ability to talk to God So that’s a few of the facts I learned. Like I said it isn’t near all of them and I would love to share them all I can’t. |

wow, not alot of us teenagers talk alot about easter, the crucifixitian and the ressurection, whenever a person thinks about easter they automatically think of bunny's and chocolate and cute little chikens, but not alot ever spend their precious time beseeching, seeking and thinking about Jesus Christ and the horrible pain He went through, so we will have a choice, the choice in which is to be saved or the opposite, and if we choose to be saved once we die we will not burn in hell. Another fact is, they beat Him, flogged Him, whipped Him with a Cat of Nine tails, (which is, nine stripes of glass, rocks, wood, leather and everything possible, they beat Him so much, He wasn't even viewed a man, He was a piece of raw meat on a tree. but He did that for you and me. |
