I haven't been online much lately. We have family in from out of town, and have been going non stop since they got here. They are actually staying with my husbands mother, but we are doing something together every day, so things are crazy! I feel like a bee flitting around and lighting for only a few seconds (Hence the reason for the title).
Amidst all of this running though, I have had time to reflect on the importance of family. We only get to see this branch of the family about once a year. When they come to visit, we cram a whole years worth of activity into one or two weeks. It makes life hectic for a few weeks, and then it is sad when they go home. Still, I wouldn't trade it for anything. Things will change next year, because their son is graduating from high school. He probably won't be making the trip anymore, or if he does, it will only be a matter of time before he does not. Change is a part of life, and life is all about change.
As we grow older, and our physical bodies start giving out like an old car, having more and more things going wrong with them, Isn't it a comfort to know that someday we will not have the pain or the problem of things not working in our bodies like they should? I look forward to that day, but still, I am enjoying life to the fullest while I can. But sometimes that means I am spreading myself pretty thin, like this week. Fortunately, since we have been doing a lot of driving to get to our destination for the days activities, it has given me opportunity to do my Beth Moore bible study, and read my daily devotional bible. Fortunately, I don't get car sick, so I can read, and study...which has been a blessing. It gives me a chance to slow down in the middle of a hectic day. To focus my mind and my spirit on God and His word. It seems to revitalize me, and make the day more meaningful.
I get a lot done in a car...I sing my praises to God, I pray, I do bible study and bible reading (not while driving of course!) I think God can take the busiest of days and give us time alone with Him, no matter where we are or what we are doing. We just have to be open to him and open to the opportunities.
What are some things you have done, in the busiest times of your life, to stay connected with God?

The body is getting old and falling apart. Can't do much with it any more.
I do a couple of things...
I get outside. I love to walk and talk to God. I walk in the woods or on the beach. Sometimes I will sit on the porch with a cup of coffee and watch the squirrels...especially when God is dealing with me on something. I sit and ponder the scriptures.
I worship. Doesn't have to be in church. Actually, I worship Him more outside of church than I do at church. I commute two hours each way (four hours total) every day which gives me great time to worship. I have a Third Day CD that is great to worship to, but WOW Worship does well, too. Kirk Franklin is pretty awesome, too. A good hour or two of worship can totally turn my day around.
So, while the body still falls apart, the spirit continues to grow. For that I am grateful. |

| I totally agree, Voice. My commute is 25 minutes and sometimes I am disappointed when traffic is light. I really like to use that time for worship. Sometimes I raise my hands, sometimes I just tilt my head back and sing to my Savior. More than once, I've had to turn the music off for a couple of minutes before I drove into the parking lot and give my tears a minute to dry. God is so good! |

DC, I am glad I am not the only one that sings praise in the car while I am driving. Music is such a vital part of my praise life, I don't know what I would do if I couldn't sing.
Soozanne, I don't often cry when I sing, but there are certainly songs that will do it to me. Have kleenex handy! |

| I also sing praises to God in the car on the way to and from work. I have a 20-30 minute drive (depending on the traffic) and sometimes I cry to a certain song. Sometimes I have heard the song before several times before I actually listen to the song. It always seems when I "listen" God wants me to hear the words on that particular morning or evening. Sometimes it's exactly what I needed to hear! :) |

| It's just like reading the bible...we read the same things but sometimes something new jumps out at us that we never thought about before. Songs are like that too. Sometimes there is just a certain message that God wants us to hear, and that is what comes out in the song, or in the bible reading. It is amazing the way God speaks to us if only we will listen! |
