| An Easter Thought |
|
| |
Tomorrow, many will, no doubt, celebrate the Death and Resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is truly something to be happy about, for it was the greatest expression of love in all of eternity.
Let us ask ourselves today, "Could we show Him how happy and thankful we are by focussing on the most important thing to Him?"
Jesus was asked in the hours just before He went to the cross, "Teacher, which kind of commandment is great and important in the Law?" And He replied, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." And then He said, "This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
And so, as we plan to celebrate Easter Sunday, let us consider what was and is today, most important to the One we are celebrating.
Love endures long and is patient, waiting for the Holy Spirits' afferent.
Love is always kind, reaching out to all mankind.
Love is never envious or jealous, but for their blessing we are zealous.
Love is never boastful or vainglorious, instead believes all are meritorious.
Love does not display itself haughtily, and seeks instead humility.
Love is not conceited or puffed up in pride, but depending on truth to keep it in stride.
Love is not rude and doesn't act unbecomingly, willing instead to be gentle and mannerly.
Love does not insist on its own rights or its own way, yielding to others all through the day.
Love is not self-seeking, through Christ's' interceding.
Love is not fretful or resentful, with a prayer-life eventful.
Love takes no account of the evil done to it, surrendering to God we're able to bare it.
Love does not rejoice at injustice or unrighteousness, but mournful we ask for Gods mercy and forgiveness.
Love rejoices when right and truth prevail, giving glory to God for those who avail.
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, believing that ultimately His will be done.
Love is ever ready to believe the best of everyone, never really knowing what the other has undergone.
Loves hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, trusting in God no matter the consequences.
Love endures everything, and suffers through anything.
Love never fails and never fades out, our faith in God leaves us without a doubt.
That is Gods definition of love put to poem from I Cor 13:4-8, of course, and I hope that some or all of these elements could be expressed during this special day of Honor to our Father for His greatest expression of love to and for us.
God Bless All Of You!
I hope you believe me, when I say:
I love you. |

Love does not insist on its own rights or its own way, yielding to others all through the day.
This is one of the things we see the most of today. Have you seen the movie Fireproof? I watched it last night with Jim. It is a Christian movie and healing for marriages. We enjoyed it and it speaks to much of what is written here. |
