| I Am Such A Mess |
|
| |
I Know that I am such a mess, to all of you I do confess.
I love the Lord with all my heart, but serving him I've not the art.
My friend called me the other day, asking me if I would pray.
His sister whom years ago had ran away, was found near death and now in surgery.
So sad for him what could I say, of course my friend you know I'll pray.
It was tough to hear him cry, we talked a bit and said goodbye.
Not right now though I've cloths to dry, Once those are on then I will try.
Then the office called, you must come in, hope it won't be for long again.
Eleven at night finally about to sleep, remembering a promise to keep.
Back out of bed and on the floor, unto the Lord I did implore.
Father, You know that I am such a mess, and to You alone, I must confess.
I love you Lord with all my heart, but serving You I've not the art.
I should have prayed for this hours ago, If it's to late now just tell me so.
My friend is sad I'm sure you know, for his Sister he loves her so.
Forgive me Lord if it's too late, I worry now about her fate.
Tired and useless I fall to sleep, awakened early to the phone beep.
It was my friend with terrible word, her death to me he had inferred.
Friend I said, I am such a mess, I am sorry to confess.
I love the Lord with all my heart, but serving him I've not the art.
I meant to pray after you called, my life I know I should have stalled.
I didn't pray till late last night, I'm sorry now it wasn't right.
No no He said it's miraculous, at eleven ten she did confess.
Before she died her heart did seek, and asked the Lord her soul to keep.
I could not believe those words he'd said, Remembering what time I'd gone to bed.
Lord you know I am a mess, yet knowing me you're quick to bless.
Thank you Lord for what you do, less of me and more of you.

Dear Preston: Prayer is a privilege it isn't God. I really believe that genuine prayer is something that the Spirit accomplishes through us; it is initiated by the Lord and He intercedes through his body. To think that because "I" don't pray about something someone is doomed is making prayer and what "we" do or don't do God instead of God. Same thing can be said about faith. Is faith God or is God God? If we pray then we participate in the relationship that exists between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. If we don't pray then the Lord will use someone else. God loved his sister all her life and never had a desire that she perish. Next time just pray on the phone with your friend. Don't play the what if, if only game! :-) Wonderful and touching poem! Love you! Craig |

| Thank you all. These poems have all been made up by me, but pretending to be anyone (a women in one, a young person in another), but all relating to the experience we have with Gods Love. I agree with Craig but add that God is Spirit and we must go to Him in Spirit. I know you agree, Craig. In the case of this poem, we are left to wonder, was their life too busy to hear the leading of the Spirit? Were they just not lead to Pray by the Spirit until God would use the Prayer in the salvation of his friends sister? Many more possibilities there to think about, But God is Good,... Amen? Love you All. |

Joey and I are spiritual sisters because I totally giggled when I read that you get inside her head. Few do like you, there are a few here but you definitely make that list of those who minister to me. I had messed up and not prayed and found out later that something turned out ok and sometimes not. I am learning to stop and pray when possible and journal now to list my prayers as much as I remember so that I can see a record of the responses.
What a beautiful reminder. I like to personalize my prayers and it helps me to have a face, a picture of the person if possible. If not a background on the need, helps me to feel the need and pray.
I love when folks bring up a prayer request and then update so I can remember to pray again, soaking pressing prayer.
love ya brother! hugely, juanita |

| This poem is so true. We get so caught up in our business that we miss that still small voice that calls us into submission and intercession. More of you Lord and less of me! |

This was just beautiful, it touched me so because there have been times when I had waited until the end of the day. I know that there is a reason for everything. Thank you for your poem but most of all for showing God's love thru everything you say and do, love ya mucho |

| Praise God, Dora. In the poems that have come to me, here,... I was led to an image of someone, stuggling with their relationship with God, or dealing with their weaknesses, frustrations with life, and brokeness. Allways,... back, behind the story is this love, that can not fail, never rests,... is bigger than the problem,... was waiting for just the right moment. I know with all my heart that there is nothing more important to understand, than His Love. Dora, I love that you are in this journey now. I don't know where it is going to wind up, but I have been changed and I know it will change anyone. I love you. |

| Thank you, my new friend. I hope you will look through some of the earlier teachings here that the Lord has brought us thru to this point. There is no point in adding stars or even commenting, if you don't feel led, but if you will allow the Holy Spirit to go thru the study with you, I know you will be blessed. I love you, Carrie Ann. |
