This is very true, but at the same time if God leads you to witness to someone He is with you and will give you the words to say.  A saying I have heard says "God doesn't choose the prepared, He prepares the chosen".  After saying this I must say that the best tool God has to prepare us, is our ability to read and study his word.  Paul told Timothy "to study to show himself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Tim 2:15).

God does give us the words and the way he does that is thru his word. One of the greatest things as Christians we can do to uplift him and to strengthen our witness is to "know" what God says. You will probably find that the more you know about it - the stronger your strength in facing those who do not believe. Why? Because its easier to talk about things we know! There is not an instance or arguement made in this world that can not be substantiated or countered through the use of God's scriptures. Some of the coolest experiences I've ever had is when I can quote scriptures during a discussion. Then I know what I am saying is infallible because God's word is infallible. Definition of infallible:
It is something that cannot be proved false It is something that can be safely relied on It is something completely trustworthy and sure

How enpowering is that? To know that we can infallibly speak by getting in the word and asking God's wisdom in understanding it. That's good stuff! ;)

Nice post Lisa.
