To fear the Lord is the beginning of knowledge because you are recognizing God for who He is. Perfect, complete, almighty, King, magnificent, just, gracious, all knowing, and the list goes on. There is no word to describe God that does him justice, because He is justice. Try peace; peace does not describe Him because He is peace. You see, we bow before His throne not out of fear but out of reverence of who He is. That's the beginning of knowledge. Meditate on the characteristics of God and see what you come away with.
