Not only does the battle belong to the Lord, but it is already won.

Wow, Sue!  This is a different angle of the same message God has been giving me over and over for several days now, including this morning and this evening at church!  Thank you for posting this and allowing God to use you!  The line "The Word not only says that He will go with you, but that He will go before you!" especially spoke to me tonight!

Great Sue! Fear is a normal human response, and fear is also brought on by demonic activity in the spiritual realm. Either way, if we are relying on the Word of God to arm us (specifically our minds), then we will be prepared for the ensuing battle! ~mike

2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Praise God that He has already won and that we can have victory because of what He accomplished at the cross.

Norm,  Fabulous contribution to this post!  That's exactly right!

Kathy, I always say that "Our God is a confirming God."  Thanks for confirming the timing of this post :)  I had a list of ideas in front of me, and this one just jumped out at me!

Mike, Right on Bro!  The sooner we can figure out where the fear is coming from, the sooner we can attack it with spiritual weapons!

Zach,  And again I say...Thou art the man!

Very encouraging post, Sue.  Thanks.

Reminds me of another song too:

No weapon formed against me shall prosper
All those who rise up against me shall fall
I will not fear what the devil may bring me
I am a servant of God, Oh, oh, oh, I am a servant of God.

Everytime we sing that song at church I feel as though I can mount up with the wings of an eagle and fly around the sanctuary.  It's awesome.  <><

Great blog Sue! I like that point 'do all things with the ability that God has given you and not others.' I think sometimes that's the very subtlest of attacks--that we measure our abilities against the ability of others and feel inadequate in comparison. If we do that, we create an opening for fear to enter.

"The Lord is my Light and my Salvation, whom shall I fear? Of whom shall I be afraid?"  (Ps. 27:1) This is the line of a new song we sing at our church (our Pastor is an anointed Psalmist) and all you have to do is sing that song and you're good to go for along time! lol!

I love the idea of putting on the full armor of God.  How can we lose when we have Him in our corner, guiding our steps, and protecting us from the evil one?  Great blog Sue!

Sue,
Very powerful words of wisdom. We all need to hear daily the words of God
and to know that is indeed with us and before us in all things that He call us to do.

Thanks for these awsome words of encouragment.

Hey, put together fear and pacnic attacks in one body and you have a bigger mess, but even there God has all the power to help us overcome whatever comes our way.  And yes, It's much easier said than done for us human, but not for God...  That battle belongs to the Lord, and He already WON ;-)  Good blog!

Is that a song/Hymn, "The Battle belongs to the Lord"? I don't recall ever hearing it, not those words anyway.
You know it is very touching how the Spirit directs of thoughts and conversations of sharing among Hid Vine, Todays post of "Let us Pray" is focused on "Fear". But I have mentioned the word being used in both ways, fear of man and worldly vs. fear in the Lord.
Wonderful post in the Spirit Sister, keep up the good work in Him.

Sue sure your right Great Blog

The word is sharper than two edgedSword

FEARS CAN BE RESISTED BY REMEMBERING GOD’S GREATNESS.
The king noticed Nehemiah’s sad appearance. This frightened Nehemiah because it was dangerous to show sorrow before the king, who could execute anyone who displeased him. Anyone wearing sackcloth (mourning clothes) was barred from the palace (Esther 4:2).
Nehemiah wasn’t ashamed to admit his fear, but he refused to allow fear to stop him from doing what God had called him to do. When we allow our fears to rule us, we make fear more powerful than God. Is there a task God wants you to do, but fear is holding you back? God is greater than all your fears. Recognizing why you are afraid is the first step in committing it to God. Realize that if God has called you to a task, he will help you accomplish it.
BIBLE READING: Proverbs 29:18-27
KEY BIBLE VERSE: Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but to trust the LORD means safety. (Proverbs 29:25)

WHAT CAN I DO WHEN I AM OVERCOME WITH FEAR? HOW DO I FIND THE STRENGTH TO GO ON?
Psalm 46:1-2 . . . God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear, even if earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.
John 14:27 . . . I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart . . . So don’t be troubled or afraid.
God promises to comfort us in our fear if we seek him when we are afraid. We have the confident assurance that he is with us in any circumstance.
