| What DID Jesus do? |

Remember a few years ago when everyone was running around with those bracelets that said WWJD? (What would Jesus do?) I actually had someone use that to criticize me. Apparently Jesus would have done whatever she wanted Him to do, but I didn't! Arguably, there is something even more important than what we might speculate that Jesus would do if He were faced with our decisions. And that is the answer to the question what DID Jesus do? What did Jesus do that we worship Him? What did He do that we follow and trust in Him? What did He do that makes a difference for you and me? What Jesus did that was so important is found in Hebrews 1:3; He made purification for sins! Jesus' death was the payment for all our sins; all my sins and all your sins. It is by His suffering and death, His offering of Himself on the cross as a sacrfice, a sin offering, that we are made pure and therefore enabled to enter into the presence of a Holy God who cannot be in the presence of sin or even those tainted by sin. Because of what Jesus did, I can have a relationship with God through Him. Because of what Jesus did, the promise of eternal life in heaven after our life in this world is over belongs to each of us. TWJD! That's what Jesus DID! 1:3 He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power.
