This is one of the great Christological (doctrine of Christ) passages in all of Scripture. The Son is the exact representation of the Father. Look at Christ and you have seen the Father (John 14:9). Who is Jesus? He is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life in our place. He died as a substitute for our sins. He rose triumphant from the grave by the power of the Spirit, and now He sits at the right hand of the Father in power and majesty. He deserves your worship because He is God. One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the God the Father. 1:3 He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power.
